Bioengineering facets of the tumor microenvironment in 3D tumor models: insights into cellular, biophysical and biochemical interactions

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
The tumor microenvironment is a dynamic, multifaceted complex system of interdependent cellular, biochemical, and biophysical components. Three‐dimensional in vitro models of the tumor microenvironment enable a better understanding of these interactions and their impact on cancer progression and therapeutic resistance.

Comparative single‐cell transcriptomic profiling of patient‐derived renal carcinoma cells in cellular and animal models of kidney cancer

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, Volume 15, Issue 7, Page 1124-1143, July 2025.
We generated and characterized clear cell renal cell carcinoma models using the patient‐derived RCC243 cell line—including cell culture, orthotopic, and metastatic tumors—via single‐cell RNA‐sequencing for comparisons between models and patient tumor datasets.

Soman induces endoplasmic reticulum stress and apoptosis of cerebral organoids via the GRP78‐ATF6‐CHOP signaling pathway

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, Volume 15, Issue 7, Page 1041-1053, July 2025.
Cerebral organoids were employed as a novel model to explore the neurotoxicity of soman. Soman inhibited acetylcholinesterase activity, increased cell apoptosis and upregulated endoplasmic reticulum (ER) stress markers glucose‐regulated protein 78 (GRP78), activating transcription factor 6 (ATF6) and C/EBP homologous protein (CHOP).

Fast Determination of Moment of Inertia of Permanent Magnet Synchronous Machine Drives for Design of Speed Loop Regulator

open access: yesIEEE Transactions on Control Systems Technology, 2017
This paper proposes a novel method for the fast determination of moment of inertia of permanent magnet synchronous machine drive systems. It is based on the use of sinusoidal perturbation signals and can determine the combined moment of inertia within ...

Comparative study of adenosine 3′‐pyrophosphokinase domains of MuF polymorphic toxins

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, Volume 15, Issue 7, Page 1103-1112, July 2025.
With the ultimate goal of understanding the association of toxin‐immunity modules to temperate phages, we characterized toxins from three prophages and examined cross‐protection from immunity proteins. The toxins exhibit adenosine 3′‐pyrophosphokinase activity and are toxic in Escherichia coli.

Inertia Loads Simulation and Coupled Vibration Analysis of Roller Test Rig

open access: yes机车电传动, 2014
Method of driving axle load moment checking for roller test rig based on inertia matching was proposed. Effect of track wheel's inertia on traction and braking test was analyzed, which showed that inertia of track wheel was 6.7% of vehicle inertia.

Long non‐coding RNAs as therapeutic targets in head and neck squamous cell carcinoma and clinical application

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Long non‐coding RNAs (lncRNAs) occupy an abundant fraction of the eukaryotic transcriptome and an emerging area in cancer research. Regulation by lncRNAs is based on their subcellular localization in HNSCC. This cartoon shows the various functions of lncRNAs in HNSCC discussed in this review.

Matrigel inhibits elongation and drives endoderm differentiation in aggregates of mouse embryonic stem cells

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Stem cell‐based embryo models (SCBEMs) are valuable to study early developmental milestones. Matrigel, a basement membrane matrix, is a critical substrate used in various SCBEM protocols, but its role in driving stem cell lineage commitment is not clearly defined.
