Über das Vorkommen von Isosakuranetin‐7‐rhamnosidoglucosid im Blatt von Monarda didyma L.

AbstractDas Blatt von Monarda didyma enthält zu 0,02% ein Flavanon‐Glykosid. Sein Aglykon ist 5,7‐Dihydroxy‐4′‐methoxy‐flavanon. Als Zucker liegen Rhamnose und Glucose vor, die über das C‐7‐Hydroxyl des Flavanons gebunden sind. Entgegen anders lautenden Literaturangaben enthält das ätherische Öl von Monarda didyma kein Thymol.

We examined the effect of the lower lip of Monarda didyma L. on pollen removal by ruby-throated hummingbirds (Archilochus colubris L.) through comparisons of hummingbird visits to natural, lipped flowers versus those that had their lower lip experimentally removed.

Monarda didyma L. and M. clinopodia L. occasionally form introgressive populations in the mountains of eastern Tennessee and western North Carolina.
