Justice‐centred climate change education and territory

open access: yesBritish Educational Research Journal, EarlyView.
Abstract In a globalised world, education faces challenges that go far beyond professional training, where social responsibility and the inclusion of heterogeneous communities and territories in all levels of education have become a greater focus of the university and of scientific research, setting the stage for more inclusive public policies. Greater

Immunization with the immunodominant Helicobacter suis urease subunit B induces partial protection against H. suis infection in a mouse model [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Helicobacter (H.) suis is a porcine and human gastric pathogen. Previous studies in mice showed that an H. suis infection does not result in protective immunity, whereas immunization with H.

Addressing the Attitude Behaviour Perception Gap—Multimethod Sustainable Tourist Behaviour Evaluation

open access: yesBusiness Strategy and the Environment, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Quantitative and perceptual studies have been used to define and model sustainable tourist behaviour in past years, but few studies have undertaken qualitative research of actual behaviour to delve deeper into understanding the different classifications of such behaviour. This research employed a three‐phase design, comprising a pretrip survey,

Association between genetic polymorphisms of cytochrome P450 2C19 and the risk of cerebral ischemic stroke in Chinese [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
BACKGROUND: Cytochrome P450 (CYP) 2C19 is a very important drug metabolizing enzyme. Although the single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) of CYP2C19 G681A and G636A have been suggested that they may increase the incidence of cardiovascular events, the ...

Self‐Supporting Pt–C60@GO Catalytic Cathodes for Advanced Flexible Li–O2 Batteries

open access: yesCarbon Energy, EarlyView.
A self‐supporting three‐dimensional Pt–C60@GO cathode was developed for a flexible Li–O2 battery, which demonstrates remarkable electrocatalytic activity and electrochemical stability, including a high areal capacity of 3.70 mAh cm−2, a low cell overpotential of 0.48 V, and an excellent cycle stability exceeding 100 cycles.

Fracture evolution of a thick soft protection layer and the water inrush mechanism in overburden under longwall mining

open access: yesDeep Underground Science and Engineering, EarlyView.
Through shear–tensile creep tests and viscoelastic modeling, the fracture evolution of thick soft protective layers is clarified. Results show thickness‐dependent rheological failure modes that govern four types of roof water inrush, providing a mechanism‐based framework for hazard prediction and control. Abstract In the Jurassic coal‐bearing strata of
