Discrimination in measures of knowledge monitoring accuracy. [PDF]

open access: yesAdv Cogn Psychol, 2014
Knowledge monitoring predicts academic outcomes in many contexts. However, measures of knowledge monitoring accuracy are often incomplete. In the current study, a measure of students' ability to discriminate known from unknown information as a component of knowledge monitoring was considered.

Improving the Accuracy of a Biohybrid for Environmental Monitoring

open access: yesSensors, 2023
Environmental monitoring should be minimally disruptive to the ecosystems that it is embedded in. Therefore, the project Robocoenosis suggests using biohybrids that blend into ecosystems and use life forms as sensors.

Metacognitive Effort Regulation across Cultures

open access: yesJournal of Intelligence, 2023
Success in cognitive tasks is associated with effort regulation and motivation. We employed the meta-reasoning approach to investigate metacognitive monitoring accuracy and effort regulation in problem solving across cultures.

Adaptive distributed monitoring with accuracy objectives [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings of the 2006 SIGCOMM workshop on Internet network management, 2006
We present A-GAP, a novel protocol for continuous monitoring of network state variables, which aims at achieving a given monitoring accuracy with minimal overhead. Network state variables are computed from device counters using aggregation functions, such as SUM, AVERAGE and MAX. The accuracy objective is expressed as the average estimation error.
