Characteristics of unilateral cerebral palsy according to gestational age at birth: A retrospective study

open access: yesDevelopmental Medicine &Child Neurology, Volume 68, Issue 9, Page 1269-1280, September 2026.
Unilateral cerebral palsy (CP) affects 826 children in the Canadian CP Registry: 69% born at term, 15% 32 to 37 weeks, and 16% less than 32 weeks. Gestational age at birth did not affect impairments such as vision or hearing impairment, ambulation, seizures, or feeding difficulty.

Endothelin concentrations in monochorionic twins with severe twin-twin transfusion syndrome

open access: yes, 1999
The objective of this study was to determine endothelin (ET-1) concentrations in monochorionic twin fetuses with and without twin-twin transfusion syndrome (TTTS).

Maternal plasma angiotensin 1-7 concentration is related to twin pregnancy chorionicity in the third trimester of pregnancy

open access: yesFrontiers in Endocrinology
IntroductionTwin gestation is related to a higher risk of hypertensive disorders in pregnancy with possible risk stratification depending on chorionicity.

pathogenic variant in monochorionic dizygotic twins with twin–twin transfusion syndrome

open access: yes, 2021
We report the first case of blood chimerism involving a pathogenic RB1 variant in naturally conceived monochorionic-dizygotic twins (MC/DZ) with the twin-twin-transfusion syndrome (TTTS), presumably caused by the exchange of stem-cells.

A rare case report of twin reversed arterial perfusion sequence in monochorionic diamniotic twin and outcome of Dr. Pump and Mr. Acardiac acephalus in a tertiary care centre [PDF]

open access: yes
Twin reversed arterial perfusion (TRAP) sequence or Acardiac twinning is a rare complication seen in monozygotic gestation. The reported incidence of Acardiac twin is 1 in 35000 births and 1 in 100 monozygotic twin gestation.

Complicaciones fetales en las gestaciones gemelares monocoriales biamnióticas: estudio de 94 casos

open access: yesRevista Chilena de Obstetricia y Ginecología, 2012

Evaluation of placental vascularization indices in monochorionic diamniotic and dichorionic diamniotic twin pregnancies [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
Objectives We aimed to investigate and compare placental vascularization indices between monochorionic-diamniotic, dichorionic- diamniotic normal twin pregnancies, and normal singular pregnancies.

A Case of Monochorionic-Triamniotic Triplet Pregnancy with TRAP Sequence Successfully Treated with Radiofrequency Ablation with a Parallel Circuit Consisting of Anastomosed Blood Vessels between the Direct Pump Fetus and the Indirect Pump Fetus

open access: yesCase Reports in Obstetrics and Gynecology, 2019
Monochorionic-triamniotic triplet pregnancy with twin reversed arterial perfusion (TRAP) sequence is one of the rare complications of multiple pregnancy and has been reported by only a few.

Maternal hemodynamic evaluation in monochorionic twin pregnancy complicated by twin-to-twin transfusion syndrome treated with fetoscopic laser surgery

open access: yes
BACKGROUND: Maternal cardiovascular adaptations are amplified in twin pregnancies to support the metabolic request of the feto-placental unit. Few studies have evaluated the maternal hemodynamics changes after routine use of laser surgery in the ...

Hydropic Placenta as a First Manifestation of Twin-Twin Transfusion in a Monochorionic Diamniotic Twin Pregnancy

open access: yes, 2009
Monochorionic twin pregnancies are at a 10% to 1.5% risk of developing twin-twin transfusion syndrome (TTTS).(1) Monitoring such pregnancies is aimed at evaluating the fetal condition by measuring the amount of amniotic fluid, Doppler parameters, and ...
