Neurocognitive outcome of monochorionic twins with different birth weights [PDF]
M.D.Background: Although the long term effect of intrauterine growth restriction has been assessed in a number of singleton studies, they all suffer from multiple confounding effects. A model that utilises monozygotic twins may markedly reduce the effect

ABSTRACT Aim To describe changes in peripheral oxygen saturation (SpO2) and regional cerebral oxygenation (rcSO2) during less invasive surfactant administration (LISA) in a high‐level continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) respiratory support delivery room protocol in very low birth weight infants (VLBW).

Unilateral cerebral palsy (CP) affects 826 children in the Canadian CP Registry: 69% born at term, 15% 32 to 37 weeks, and 16% less than 32 weeks. Gestational age at birth did not affect impairments such as vision or hearing impairment, ambulation, seizures, or feeding difficulty.

Major discordant structural anomalies in monochorionic twins : spectrum and outcomes
Monochorionic twins, resulting from a single fertilized egg giving rise to two separate embryos, are monozygotic and considered genetically identical. However, discordant phenotypes have been reported in monozygotic twins.

A rare case of cephalothoracopagus janiceps conjoined twins
Conjoined twins represent a rare phenomenon of a monochorionic monoamniotic twin. Five types of conjoined twins have been described and thoracocephalopagus was reported to be seen with an incidence of 1 in 3 million. The etiology has not been elucidated

Cord entanglement in monochorionic monoamniotic twins: a case report [PDF]
Monochorionic monoamniotic twin gestations occur in 1% of all twin pregnancies. They are at increased risk of preterm delivery and acute fetal death. Cord entanglement, malformations, twin to twin transfusion syndrome are responsible for high perinatal ...

Background Accurate prenatal recognition of discordant fetal growth in twins is critical for deciding suitable management strategies. We explored the predictive value of the level of maternal second-trimester placental growth factor (PLGF) as a novel ...

Approximately 20% of twin pregnancies are monochorionic—either monochorionic/diamniotic (MC/DA) or monochorionic/monoamniotic (MC/MA). The management of monochorionic twin pregnancy involves several additional interventions beyond the routine management ...
