An Implantable Phototriggered Prodrug Depot Patch Enables Actively Programmable Drug Release for Post‐Myocardial Infarction Therapy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
An implantable phototriggered prodrug depot patch (iPDP) is presented that enables actively programmable drug release post‐implantation. Covalently conjugated prodrug ensures minimal leakage; illumination parameters serve as a code to precisely control dose per release.

Neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio (NLR) and monocyte-to-lymphocyte ratio (MLR) as biomarkers in diabetic ketoacidosis

open access: yesEgyptian Pediatric Association Gazette
Abstract Background This study aimed to assess neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio (NLR) and monocyte-to-lymphocyte ratio (MLR) as inflammatory markers in diabetic pediatrics with and without diabetic ketoacidosis (DKA) and to evaluate their DKA diagnostic ability in the absence of infection.

Condition‐Associated Pattern Extraction and Recovery From Multi‐Condition Single‐Cell RNA‐seq Data With CAPER

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Decoupling biological signals from unwanted variation in multi‑condition single‑cell RNA sequencing data remains challenging. CAPER disentangles condition‑associated biological effects from sample heterogeneity through matrix factorization, producing interpretable latent factors and a batch‑corrected expression matrix.

An Integrative Strategy Delineates Modular Metabolic Remodeling and Potential Therapeutic Targets Across Metabolic Diseases

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
An integrative single‐cell atlas across multiple metabolic diseases reveals coordinated metabolic modules and disease‐shared versus disease‐specific pathway activities. By systematically comparing scoring strategies, a robust RankAve framework is established. Coupled with network analysis and drug‐target prediction, this resource uncovers cross‐disease

Prognostic impact of peripheral blood ratio in sinonasal squamous cell carcinoma

open access: yesScience Progress
Objective Sinonasal squamous cell carcinoma usually presents at an advanced stage at the time of diagnosis, and there is still a lack of indicators to predict the prognosis of sinonasal squamous cell carcinoma patients.

Eye‐Brain Neuroimmune Axis Enables Long‐Term Survival in Glioblastoma by Modulating Brain Immune Surveillance and Neuronal Excitability

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The eye–brain neuroimmune axis triggers immune activation and disrupts pathological neuronal connectivity to extend glioblastoma survival. ABSTRACT As an anatomical extension of the central nervous system (CNS), the eye harbors rich neural and immune interfaces with the brain. However, the integrated immunological and neurological nexus between the eye

Diagnostic utility of haematological parameters for tuberculosis in children living with HIV (0–14 years): a retrospective cohort study

open access: yesBMC Pediatrics
Background Early detection of tuberculosis (TB) in children living with HIV (CLHIV) is crucial for improving clinical outcomes and reducing disease transmission. This study aimed to evaluate the association between hematological parameters, including the

Slc44a2 Deficiency Unveils an IFN‐I–Dependent Feedback Control of pDC Egress

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Working model of SLC44A2‐mediated maintenance of pDC homeostasis. This model illustrates two central mechanisms by which SLC44A2 regulates pDC homeostasis: (1) SLC44A2 limits IFN‐I production by exporting amino acids (T, N, Q), thereby preventing spontaneous pDC activation.

Combinatorial targeting of G‐protein‐coupled bile acid receptor 1 and cysteinyl leukotriene receptor 1 reveals a mechanistic role for bile acids and leukotrienes in drug‐induced liver injury

open access: yesHepatology, EarlyView., 2022
CHIN117 is a dual cysteinyl leukotriene receptor 1 (CYSLTR1) antagonist and G‐protein‐coupled bile acid receptor 1 (GPBAR1) agonist. In the liver, GPBAR1 and CYSLTR1 are coexpressed by liver sinusoidal endothelial cells (LSECs), HSCs, circulating monocytes/macrophages, and liver resident macrophages (Kupffer cells).

S100A8/A9‐High Macrophages Activate Intestinal Fibroblasts via mCCL6/hCCL15‐CCR1 Axis to Drive Intestinal Fibrosis in Crohn's Disease

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
S100A8/A9‐high macrophages are markedly enriched in the stenotic intestinal tissue of patients with Crohn's disease. These profibrotic macrophages secrete mCCL6 in a STAT3‐dependent manner. mCCL6 and its human ortholog hCCL15 activate fibroblasts via the CCR1 receptor, thereby driving excessive collagen deposition.
