Notes on normal p-complements and monomial characters

open access: yes, 2023
Let G be a finite group and Irr(G) be the set of irreducible (complex) characters of G. Let X ∈  Irr(G) and write cod(X) = |G : ker X |/x(1) as the codegree of X , where ker X is the kernel of X.

Motherhood in crisis in Lucrecia Martel’s Salta Trilogy

open access: yesAlphaville: Journal of Film and Screen Media, 2015

The number of automorphisms of a monolithic finite group

open access: yes, 2009
We develop a general formula for the order of the group of automorphisms Aut(G) of a monolithic finite group G in terms of information about the complex characters of G and information about how G is embedded as a subgroup of a particular finite general ...

Antibacterial porous polymeric monolith columns with amphiphilic and polycationic character on cross-linked PMMA substrates for cell lysis applications [PDF]

open access: yesRSC Advances, 2013
The application of porous polymeric monolith (PPM) columns as an effective tool for bacterial cell lysis within microfluidic chips is demonstrated. By taking advantage of the large surface area and controllable pore size inherent to PPMs, we developed a double mechanism cell lysis technique.

The ubiquitin ligase RNF115 is required for the clearance of damaged lysosomes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Upon lysosomal rupture, an E3 ubiquitin ligase RNF115 translocates from the cytosol to the damaged lysosomal membrane. Moreover, RNF115 depletion impairs the clearance of damaged lysosomes, identifying it as a key regulator of lysosomal quality control.
