Summary Tolpis Adanson is a genus of some 15 species distributed primarily in the Macaronesian archipelagos of the Azores, Canary Islands, Madeira, and Cape Verde Islands. A phylogenomic study resolved Tolpis as monophyletic with the Madeiran endemic species Tolpis macrorhiza sister to the remainder of the genus.
