A Chemical Pump that Generates High‐Pressure Gas by Transmitting Liquid Fuel against Pressure Gradient

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, Volume 4, Issue 5, May 2022., 2022
Existing autonomous pneumatic soft robots have a stiff fuel tank to transport the fuel and inflate the actuator. Inspired by pit membranes in trees, a chemical pump decouples the pressures of the fuel tank and actuator, while the fuel is transmitted to the actuator against the pressure difference.

Aluminized Enhanced Blast Explosive Based on Polysiloxane Binder

open access: yesPropellants, Explosives, Pyrotechnics, Volume 47, Issue 2, February 2022., 2022
Abstract Drastic measures are taken in order to improve the properties of enhanced blast explosives. First, a binder with high reactivity as reducing agent is selected. The binder, platinum cure silicone, generates pyrophoric decomposition products in situ during the detonation.

Thermal Decomposition, Ignition Process and Combustion Behavior of Nitrate Ester Plasticized Polyether Propellant at 0.1–3.0 MPa

open access: yesInternational Journal of Aerospace Engineering, Volume 2022, Issue 1, 2022., 2022
Nitrate ester plasticized polyether (NEPE) propellant is widely used in solid rocket motors, having both good mechanical properties and high specific impulse. However, its ignition and combustion process are complex and need to be better understood.

Finite‐time dissipative control for time‐delay Markov jump systems with conic‐type non‐linearities under guaranteed cost controller and quantiser

open access: yesIET Control Theory &Applications, Volume 15, Issue 4, Page 489-498, March 2021., 2021
Abstract For a class of conic‐type non‐linear time‐delay Markov jump systems, the asynchronous dissipative output feedback controller based on the guaranteed cost control and quantiser is designed in this study. In real applications, the system and the controller modes are always non‐synchronous, so we introduce the hidden Markov model to solve this ...

Optimization of 10 N Monopropellant High Test Peroxide Thruster for Space Applications

open access: yesJournal of Advanced Research in Fluid Mechanics and Thermal Sciences, 2022
Monopropellant thruster is one of the most propulsion system types developed in the space industry. This system uses a single type of propellant that reacts in porous medium catalytic packed bed to generate thrust in the form of hot gases.

Geometrical characterization and performance optimization of monopropellant thruster injector

open access: yesEgyptian Journal of Remote Sensing and Space Sciences, 2012
The function of the injector in a monopropellant thruster is to atomize the liquid hydrazine and to distribute it over the catalyst bed as uniformly as possible. A second objective is to place the maximum amount of catalyst in contact with the propellant

Multidisciplinary Design Sensitivity Analysis of a Spacecraft Monopropellant Propulsion system by Latin Hypercube Sampling (LHS) [PDF]

open access: yesعلوم، فناوری و کاربردهای فضایی, 2023
Accurate solving of complex systems such as spacecraft is very costly and time consuming. By building a surrogate model, the solution time and the cost can be reduced.
