Facies analysis provides new insights into event bed deposition in a hadal trench environment

open access: yesSedimentology, Volume 73, Issue 2, Page 441-477, February 2026.
ABSTRACT Hadal trenches preserve exceptional sedimentary archives of past geological events, yet their depositional processes remain poorly constrained. The Japan Trench captures complex earthquake‐triggered event beds that record repeated sediment‐gravity flows that deliver terrigenous and biogenic material into the trench, informing palaeoseismic ...

THE MECHANISM OF THE FORMATION OF THIURAM AND XANTHOGEN MONOSULPHIDES, AND OBSERVATIONS ON THIOCARBAMYL THIOCYANATES

open access: yes, 1930
The mechanism of the desulphurizing action of alkali cyanides on thiuram and xanthogen disulphides has been determined. The reaction is shown to take place in two steps, the intermediate products formed in the first step have been identified as ...

THE OXIDATION OF XANTHATES AND SOME NEW DIALKYL SULPHUR- AND DISULPHUR- DICARBOTHIONATES

open access: yes, 1930
Sodium tetrathionate and cyanogen bromide in water have a specific oxidizing action on alkali xanthates, the latter being smoothly converted to xanthogen disulphides without the formation of by-products.

Systematics for trivalent and divalent rare-earth sulphides

open access: yes, 2000
The electronic structures of the rare-earth monosulphides are calculated with the self-interaction corrected local-spin-density approximation. This scheme allows part of the rare-earth f shell to be localized.

Reliability of Power Modules in Corrosive Environments: Effect of Heating on Dendritic Corrosion Growth in the Isolation Trenches

open access: yesIET Power Electronics, Volume 18, Issue 1, January/December 2025.
In this paper, applied heating was shown to effectively inhibit dendritic corrosion growth, formed in the power module isolation trenches in corrosive environments, by reducing the effective relative humidity and thereby the thickness of the adsorbed water layer on the ceramic substrate surface. The findings can be applied to enhance the reliability of

Short‐term power forecasting method for 5G photovoltaic base stations on non‐sunny days based on SDN‐integrated INGO‐BP and RGAN

open access: yesIET Renewable Power Generation, Volume 18, Issue 6, Page 1019-1039, 27 April 2024.
This research presents a novel power prediction approach for 5G photovoltaic base stations in non‐sunny weather based on software defined networking, integrating the improved Northern Goshawk optimized back propagation neural network and recurrent generative adversarial networks.

Deoxygenation of Oxiranes by λ3σ3‐Phosphorus Reagents: A Computational, Mechanistic, and Stereochemical Study

open access: yesChemPlusChem, Volume 89, Issue 3, March 2024.
Deoxygenation of oxiranes by the action of phosphane derivatives (PX3) and heavier pnictogens (PnX3) was explored in detail with regard to energetics as well as to the stereochemistry and regioselectivity outcome. Two possible routes involve either oxygen or carbene transfer reactions.

Layered Gallium Monosulfide as Phase‐Change Material for Reconfigurable Nanophotonic Components On‐Chip

open access: yesAdvanced Optical Materials, Volume 12, Issue 3, January 25, 2024.
Layered Gallium Sulfide is demonstrated as a novel phase change material for active photonics with its reversible amorphous‐to‐crystalline transition. Its structural and optical properties are statistically assessed, revealing it to be suitable to design a reconfigurable MZI modulator with reduced losses at the telecom wavelength.

Aryl monosulphides and symmetrical disulphides based second order nonlinear optical chromophores with transparency in the visible

open access: yes, 2002
A series of aryl monosulphides and disulphides have been synthesized and characterized. Their molecular hyperpolarizability (β) has been measured in solution with the hyper-Rayleigh Scattering technique and also calculated by semiempirical AM1 method ...

Kinetic investigations into the synthesis of disulphides via tetrathiomolybdate as a sulphur-transfer reagent

open access: yes, 2014
Kinetic and mechanistic aspects of the conversion of halides to disulphides using benzyl triethyl ammonium tetrathiomolybdate as sulphur-transfer reagent were investigated.
