Scots Pine Stems as Dynamic Sources of Monoterpene and Methanol Emissions
The volatile organic compound (VOC) fluxes of living plant compartments other than foliage are poorly known. In this paper we describe for the first time the methanol and monoterpene fluxes from living Scots pine stems in situ, over 4 years at the SMEAR ...

Stability of Monoterpene-Derived α-Hydroxyalkyl-Hydroperoxides in Aqueous Organic Media: Relevance to the Fate of Hydroperoxides in Aerosol Particle Phases [PDF]
The α-hydroxyalkyl-hydroperoxides [R–(H)C(−OH)(−OOH), α-HH] produced in the ozonolysis of unsaturated organic compounds may contribute to secondary organic aerosol (SOA) aging.

Toxicity of Pine Monoterpenes to Mountain Pine Beetle
The mountain pine beetle (Dendroctonus ponderosae; MPB) is an eruptive bark beetle species affecting pine forests of western North America. MPB are exposed to volatile monoterpenes, which are important host defense chemicals.

ABSTRACT The subfamily Gomphrenoideae is composed of about 480 accepted species, many of which have been historically used as medicinal plants, reason why they have been studied in terms of chemical profile, biological activity, and safety. This review consolidates the advances in research on this subfamily over the past 47 years, emphasizing its ...

Study of the effects of ß-myrcene on rat fertility and general reproductive performance
ß-Myrcene (MYR) is a monoterpene found in the oils of a variety of aromatic plants including lemongrass, verbena, hop, bay, and others. MYR and essential oils containing this terpenoid compound are used in cosmetics, household products, and as flavoring ...

Observations of total RONO2 over the boreal forest: NO x sinks and HNO3 sources [PDF]
In contrast with the textbook view of remote chemistry where HNO 3 formation is the primary sink of nitrogen oxides, recent theoretical analyses show that formation of RONO2 (ΣANs) from isoprene and other terpene precursors is the primary net chemical ...

Immobilised porphyrins in monoterpene photooxidations [PDF]
Porphyrins were covalently linked to modified Merrifield polymers by chlorosulphonation activation of the porphyrin nucleus. These supported porphyrins were used as photosensitizers to promote singlet oxygen oxidation of monoterpenes with an efficiency that depends on porphyrin structure and the spacer used to link it to the polymer structure.
