The discrete dynamics of monotonically decomposable maps [PDF]
We extend results of Gouzé and Hadeler (in Nonlinear World 1:23-34, 1994) concerning the dynamics generated by a map on an ordered metric space that can be decomposed into increasing and decreasing parts. Our main results provide sufficient conditions for the existence of a globally asymptotically stable fixed point for the map.

Performance Analysis of Abradable Coating Systems for Aircraft Gas Turbines
Three CoNiCrAlY/YSZ/MgAl2O4 abradable liner configurations on a nickel‐superalloy are evaluated by thermal‐gradient cycling and incursion tests. Laser ablation of the bondcoat and/or Y2O3‐stabilized ZrO2 (YSZ) intermediate layer increases mechanical interlocking and bonding for thick topcoats.

Phase Field Failure Modeling: Brittle‐Ductile Dual‐Phase Microstructures under Compressive Loading
The approach by Amor and the approach by Miehe and Zhang for asymmetric damage behavior in the phase field method for fracture are compared regarding their fitness for microcrack‐based failure modeling. The comparison is performed for the case of a dual‐phase microstructure with a brittle and a ductile constituent.
