Monotone Semigroups of Operators on Cones*

Canadian Mathematical Bulletin, 1969
In this paper we consider a special class of linear operators defined on a cone K in a Banach space X. This class of operators is the natural generalization of a class of operators which has applications in the theory of interpolation spaces. In particular, using the criteria developed in Theorem 1, it is possible to characterize those sequence spaces ...

A Degree for Operators of Monotone Type

Mathematische Nachrichten, 1983
The degreee of operators between such Banach spaces that form a dual system in the sense of Schaefer is defined, under a weak continuity hypothesis. The usual properties of the degree are derived for operators of monotone type and it is computed for coercive and monotone mappings.

Cyclical monotonicity of maximal monotone step operators

Boletim da Sociedade Brasileira de Matemática, 1982
Let X and Y be two locally convex Hausdorff topological vector spaces paired by a bilinear form \(\). A multimapping \(T: X\to 2^ y\) is said to be a locally step operator if each \(x\in X\) has a neighborhood U such that \(\{Ty\}_{y\in U}\) is a finite family of sets, that is, if locally T takes a finite number of set values.

Monotonicity versus Non-Monotonicity in Random Operators

1999
The past two decades have brought widespread interest and a large number of publications in the mathematical theory of random operators. While this has lead to many deep results and considerable mathematical insights, there are still important open problems which are far from being solved.
