On generalized cyclically monotone operators and proper quasimonotonictty

Optimization, 2000
In this paper we consider an abstract subdifferential that fulfills a prioria weak type of a mean value property. We survey and extend some recent results connecting the gener-alized convexity of nonsmooth functions with the generalized cyclic monotonidty of their subdifferentials. It is shown that, for a large class of subdifferentials, a Isc function

Iterative Regularization and Generalized Discrepancy Principle for Monotone Operator Equations

Numerical Functional Analysis and Optimization, 2007
In this paper, we propose two novel algorithms for solving a nonlinear ill-posed operator equation F(x) = f δ, ‖f − f δ‖ ≤ δ, in a real Hilbert space H under the following basic assumption: The first algorithm is a combination of iteratively regularized Newton's scheme (IRNS) with a posteriori stopping rule The second algorithm is a modified version of

General -monotone operators and perturbed iterations for nonlinear set-valued relaxed cocoercive operator inclusion problems

Applied Mathematics and Computation, 2009
The article deals with some inclusion problems including general \(A\)-monotone operators \(M\). Let \({\mathcal B}\) be a Banach space with dual space \({\mathcal B}^*\), \(A: \;{\mathcal B} \to {\mathcal B}^*\) be a linear or nonlinear operator; a set-valued operator \(M: \;{\mathcal B} \to 2^{\mathcal B}\) is called (by the authors) general \(A ...

Generic differentiability of convex functions and monotone operators

1989
The aim of this paper is to investigate to what extent the known theory of subdifferentiability and generic differentiability of convex functions defined on open sets can be carried out in the context of convex functions defined on not necessarily open sets.

Rambling Through Local Versions of Generalized Convex Functions and Generalized Monotone Operators

2007
Two classes of functions encompassing the cone of convex functions and the space of strictly differentiable functions are presented and compared. Related properties for sets and multimappings are dealt with.

Partially monotone operators and the generic differentiability of convex-concave and biconvex mappings

Israel Journal of Mathematics, 1986
By studying partially monotone operators, we are able to show among other results that convex-concave and biconvex mappings defined on Asplund spaces or dually strictly convex spaces are respectively generically Fréchet or Gâteaux differentiable.

Asymptotics of a General Second-Order Difference Equation and Approximation of Zeroes of Monotone Operators

Numerical Functional Analysis and Optimization, 2016
ABSTRACTIn this article, we prove several new ergodic, weak, and strong convergence theorems for solutions to the following general second-order difference equation where A is a maximal monotone operator in a real Hilbert space H and {cn} and {θn} are positive real sequences.
