Experimental study and weighting analysis of factors influencing gas desorption
Gas is one of the necessary contributing factors for coal and gas outburst accidents, and the gas desorbed in coal is the energy carrier in the outburst process.

Some remarks on the pore water pressure dissipation patterns from the one-dimensional consolidation test [PDF]
The pattern of pore water pressure dissipation from the one-dimensional consolidation test significantly affects the calculated value of the coefficient of consolidation. This paper discusses the interpretation methodology for laboratory dissipation data

Eclipses in V444 Cygni: analysis of the continuum λ 4244 Å light-curve on a class of non-negative monotonically decreasing concaved/convex functions [PDF]
A continuum λ 4244 Å light-curve of the eclipsing binary V444 Cyg (WN5+O6) is solved. The results generally agree with the previous ones obtained by Antokhin et al. (1997), with the exception that the conclusion on the slowness of the acceleration in the extended atmosphere of the WR component must be ‘softened’.

Non-monotonic effects of GABAergic synaptic inputs on neuronal firing.
GABA is generally known as the principal inhibitory neurotransmitter in the nervous system, usually acting by hyperpolarizing membrane potential.

Abstract In this study, using convolution theorem of the Laplace transforms, a monotonicity rule for the ratio of two Laplace transforms, Bernstein’s theorem for completely monotonic functions, and other analytic techniques, the authors verify decreasing property of a ratio between three derivatives of a function involving trigamma ...

In this article, we pioneer a new Burr X distribution using the odd beta prime generalized (OBP-G) family of distributions called the OBP-Burr X (OBPBX) distribution.

Vehicle Optimal Velocity Curves for Minimum-Time Maneuver
A problem in vehicle minimum-time maneuver is the assumption that a vehicle passes through a given path in a minimal amount of time without deviating from the boundary of the given path.

Local Risk Proneness in Analytically Approximated Utility Functions under Monotonically Decreasing Preferences [PDF]
We discuss an analytical arctan form to approximate decreasing utilities based on several nodes of its graphics elicited in interval form. We demonstrate the process on two types of nodes originating from different subjective elicitation approaches. Our focus is also on the local risk attitude estimator, which in the case of decreasing preferences ...

Exploring Non-Gaussianity Reduction in Quantum Channels
The quantum relative entropy between a quantum state and its Gaussian equivalent is a quantifying function of the system’s non-Gaussianity, a useful resource in several applications, such as quantum communication and computation.
