On the Monotonicity of a Nondifferentially Mismeasured Binary Confounder

open access: yesJournal of Causal Inference, 2020
Suppose that we are interested in the average causal effect of a binary treatment on an outcome when this relationship is confounded by a binary confounder. Suppose that the confounder is unobserved but a nondifferential proxy of it is observed.

Switchable Supramolecular Adhesive by Tuning Interfacial Bonding and Modulus

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
The supramolecular adhesive (HyDiP) shows reversible adhesion and recyclability. In the dehydrated state, it is dense, stiff (E ≈445 MPa), transparent, and provides strong bonding with adhesion strengths up to 4.65 MPa. In the hydrated state, it becomes porous, soft (E ≈0.11 MPa), and detaches easily, enabling sustainable high‐strength applications ...

Convergence Analysis of Caputo-Type Fractional Order Complex-Valued Neural Networks

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2017
The complex-valued neural networks are the class of networks that solve complex problems by using complex-valued variables. The gradient descent method is one of the popular algorithms to train complex-valued neural networks. Essentially, the established

Monotonic Entropies

open access: yesScientific Annals of Computer Science
We introduce an axiomatization of entropy that generates, as special cases, novel entropy types. These entropies generalize Shannon’s entropy and allow the introduction of entropy for partitions of sets of objects located in metric spaces, and for partitions of sets of vertices in undirected graphs.

Transition From Lattice Oxygen to Radical‐Mediated Oxidation in Ammonium‐Intercalated Birnessite Catalysts for Selective Valorization of Biomass to Produce Formic Acid

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
The catalytic valorization of biomass represents an essential approach for achieving sustainable chemical production, with formic acid (FA) being recognized as a valuable platform chemical for hydrogen storage and environmentally friendly synthetic applications.

A semilinear Dirichlet problem involving the fractional Laplacian in R+ n

open access: yesAdvanced Nonlinear Studies
We investigate the Dirichelt problem involving the fractional Laplacian in the upper half-space R+n=x∈Rn∣x1>0 ${\mathbb{R}}_{+}^{n}=\left\{x\in {\mathbb{R}}^{n}\mid {x}_{1}{ >}0\right\}$ :  (−Δ)su(x)=f(u(x)),x∈R+n, u(x)>0,x∈R+n, u(x)=0,x∉R+n.

Near‐Infrared Light‐Programmable Negative Differential Transconductance in Organic Electrochemical Transistors for Reconfigurable Logic

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Organic electrochemical transistors based on a Near‐Infrared (NIR)‐responsive polymer p(C4DPP‐T) and iodide electrolyte exhibit optically programmable negative differential transconductance. NIR illumination triggers an iodine‐mediated redox process, enabling a transition from binary to ternary conductance states within a single‐layer device.

Selective Separation of the Rare Earth Elements Dysprosium and Neodymium via Tailoring Nanocellulose Chemical Structure

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Dicarboxylate‐modified anionic hairy cellulose nanocrystals exhibit a high selectivity for dysprosium(III) over neodymium(III). This selectivity arises from disordered dicarboxylate cellulose “hairs” that enable cooperative ionic coordination, hydrogen bonding, and strain‐induced conformational shrinkage.
