Complete classification on traveling waves in monotone dynamical systems [PDF]
It is well-known that traveling waves with the minimal speed in monotone dynamical systems are typically categorized into two types: pushed fronts and pulled fronts. In this paper, using a new approach, we identify a general rule for monotone dynamical systems: the pushed front always decays at a fast rate.

Unequivocal Majority and Maskin-Monotonicity [PDF]
The unequivocal majority of a social choice rule F is the minimum number of agents that must agree on their best alternative in order to guarantee that this alternative is the only one prescribed by F.

The development of multivalent rechargeable batteries (MRB) requires the prediction of battery behavior at experimentally unreached conditions in the laboratory. Therefore, the diffusion equation is used to analyze the relation between the diffusion coefficient (DC) and the Warburg factor for different MRBs to predict the theoretical DC values at ...

Counting Defiers in Health Care: A Design-Based Model of an Experiment Can Reveal Evidence Against Monotonicity [PDF]
We show that a design-based model of an experiment with a binary intervention and outcome can reveal empirical evidence against a ``monotonicity'' assumption that the intervention affects all subjects in weakly the same direction. A canonical sampling-based model cannot, but we show that other sampling-based models can.

Mechanochemistry: Fundamental Principles and Applications
In this review, the physicochemical principles of mechanochemistry are first clarified. Based on this foundation, the research basis and cutting‐edge scientific achievements in four areas are introduced: solid‐state organic chemistry, polymers, interface science, and biomechanochemistry.

Quantitative Super‐Resolution Imaging of Molecular Tension
Quantitative tension PAINT (qtPAINT) is a new method to quantify molecular tension at super‐resolution by exploiting force‐dependent DNA oligonucleotide dissociation kinetics. Combining hairpin tension probes and molecular‐beacon imagers, qtPAINT achieves 9–30 pN continuous force quantification range with 30–120 nm spatial and minute‐scale temporal ...
