Surface‐Driven Protocell Formation in Geologically Relevant Early Earth Environment

open access: yesChemSystemsChem, Volume 8, Issue 2, March 2026.
Illustration of a prebiotic early‐Earth environment showing cell‐like protocells (blue spheres) and other complex organic molecules (pink and green spheres) distributed across terrestrial surfaces and within subsurface niches. Volcanic landscapes and mineral‐rich substrates provide diverse geochemical settings for the assembly and evolution of ...

Survey on Faecal Microbiota Transplantation and Probiotic Use in Equine Practice in France and Belgium

open access: yesVeterinary Medicine and Science, Volume 12, Issue 2, March 2026.
A survey of 96 equine veterinarians in France and Belgium revealed widespread therapeutic use of probiotics (82.1%) and faecal microbiota transplantation (76.0%). Knowledge gaps persisted, with 16.7% misidentifying non‐probiotic products and only 22.5% performing donor testing before FMT.

Emerging Themes of Global Dust Research: Linking Physical Processes to Human Health, Safety, and Welfare

open access: yesGeoHealth, Volume 10, Issue 3, March 2026.
Abstract Dust and dust storms are known to negatively affect human health, safety, and welfare. Most dust‐related studies have previously focused on the physical processes of dust initiation, transport, and deposition at various temporal and spatial scales.

Broadband Dielectric Analysis of Clays: Impact of Cation Exchange Capacity, Water Content, and Porosity

open access: yesJournal of Geophysical Research: Solid Earth, Volume 131, Issue 3, March 2026.
Abstract Clay‐rich soils and sediments are key components of near‐surface systems, influencing water retention, ion exchange, and structural stability. Their complex dielectric response under moist conditions arises from surface–ion electrostatics and diffuse double layers that govern transport and retention processes. This study explores the broadband
