Experimental assessment of swelling potential in montmorillonite soils
The study of the physicochemical activity of clays is essential to understand the mechanical-hydraulic behavior. The experimental analysis of the expansivity of soils is linked to the content of clay minerals present in the tactoid tissue, which affect

Intercalation of metformin into montmorillonite
Metformin hydrochloride is spontaneously intercalated into layered silicates like montmorillonite by an ion-exchange mechanism, producing a promising controlled release system.

NMR study of surfactant molecules intercalated in montmorillonite and in silylated montmorillonite [PDF]
Abstract13C CP MAS NMR and 29Si MAS NMR were used to characterize silylated montmorillonites and to estimate the extent of the silylation reaction. Indirectly-detected proton relaxation times of the intercalated surfactant were measured in both silylated and non-silylated clay systems to monitor the dynamics of intercalated species. A greater degree of

Tin exchanged montmorillonite K10 (SnII-Mont K10) was prepared by ion exchange between SnCl2 and montmorillonite K10. The SnII-Mont K10 was characterized by X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscope and energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy.

Influence of hydrophilicity on adsorption of caffeine onto montmorillonite
Some types of montmorillonite containing different interlayer ions were prepared and the changes in the interlayer spacings, the hydrophilicity, and the characteristics of adsorption of caffeine in solution were observed.

IT has been shown that montmorillonite saturated with small ions, for example, lithium, is difficult to rehydrate after being dried at moderate temperatures1–3. This behaviour has been found to be confined to montmorillonite and forms the basis of a new test which enables the mineral to be easily distinguished from the other common montmorillonoids4.

An unusual montmorillonite complex [PDF]
Sodium montmorillonite and pyridine form a regular complex of spacing 23.3 kX in the presence of traces of moisture. The minimum interlamellar composition ecessary for the formation of the complex is approximately Na ~ (C5H5N)4 (HzO)2. The intensities of

Ultrathin MXene/EMF composite foams achieve a specific shielding efficiency of 749.6 dB.dB·cm3$\mathrm{dB}\cdot {\mathrm{cm}}^{3}$/g, while the silver‐enhanced MXene/Ag/EMF reaches 81.4 dB shielding effectiveness at just 1.0 mm thickness. Both composites exhibit rapid Joule heating, retain stability up to 250∘C$^\circ{\rm C}$, and withstand 1000 ...
