In Vitro and In Vivo evaluation of montmorillonite for paraquat poisoning

open access: yesBrazilian Journal of Pharmaceutical Sciences, 2023
Evaluation of montmorillonite for paraquat by in vitro and in vivo test. In vitro test were evaluated by a batch test, taking the paraquat concentration, adsorbents, reaction environment and time as indices, the absorption rate was screened by orthogonal

Use of ultrasound attenuation spectroscopy to determine the size distribution of clay tactoids in aqueous suspensions

open access: yes, 2013
The dispersion processes of aqueous samples of clay are studied using ultrasound attenuation spectroscopy. The attenuation spectra that are acquired in the frequency range $10-100$ MHz are used to determine the particle size distributions (PSDs) for ...

Breaking the Toughness‐Stretchability Trade‐Off in Hydrogels with Dynamic Hydrogen Bonding

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A novel nanocomposite hydrogel architecture overcomes the inherent conflict between toughness and stretchability by integrating uniformly dispersed aminopropyl‐hybrid‐phyllosilicate nanosheets within a polyacrylamide matrix. This design leverages a dynamic hydrogen‐bonding network to facilitate efficient energy dissipation and self‐recovery.

Towards a model of the Al13-pillared layer clay - a computational study [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
A step-by-step construction of an Al13-Keggin ion pillared montmorillonite segment is shown with the use of the MM+ general force field. The starting structures for the montmorillonite as well as the Al13-Keggin ion were obtained as pdb files.

Bayesian Optimization Guiding the Experimental Mapping of the Pareto Front of Mechanical and Flame‐Retardant Properties in Polyamide Nanocomposites

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Discovery, EarlyView.
Bayesian optimization enabled the design of PA56 system with just 8 wt% additives, achieving limiting oxygen index 30.5%, tensile strength 80.9 MPa, and UL‐94 V‐0 rating. Without prior knowledge, the algorithm uncovered synergistic effects between aluminum diethyl‐phosphinate and nanoclay.

Swelling of TMA(tetramethylammonium)- and HDP(hexadecylpyridinium)-montmorillonites in water and toluene media: influence of the type montmorillonites

open access: yesMaterials Research, 2000
Organo-clays were prepared by exchange cations of the montmorillonite with tetramethylammonium (TMA)- and hexadecylpyridinium (HDP)-chloride. Two different montmorillonite types were studied.
