Fracture of a biopolymer gel as a viscoplastic disentanglement process
We present an extensive experimental study of mode-I, steady, slow crack dynamics in gelatin gels. Taking advantage of the sensitivity of the elastic stiffness to gel composition and history we confirm and extend the model for fracture of physical ...

Influence of Processing Technology on Mooney Viscosity and Burning Time of Mixed Rubber
The influence of mixed rubber processing technology on Mooney viscosity and burning time was studied. The results showed that the Mooney viscosity of mixed rubber increased with the extension of the parking time, and the burning time did not change significantly.

Effect of cardanol on properties of carbon black/natural rubber composites
Carbon black/natural rubber compo-sites were prepared by wet mixing process, and the effects of cardanol amount on Mooney viscosity, mechanical properties and wear resistance were stu-died. The results showed that cardanol could reduce the initial Mooney

An ionic liquid‐based shear‐thickening fluid (ILSTF) exhibits lubricated dynamics from strong shear thickening to impact‐triggered jamming. A persistent nanometric solvation layer around silica governs both the shear thickening saturation in rheology and jamming front propagation under dynamic impact compression.

Letter to the Editor: Wall slip in dispersion rheometry
Whereas our understanding of the role and mechanism of wall slip has improved substantially over the last decade or two, it is still common to see papers on disperse systems appear wherein scant details of the measurement methods are given and wherein no

Elastic models for the non-Arrhenius viscosity of glass-forming liquids [PDF]
This paper first reviews the shoving model for the non-Arrhenius viscosity of viscous liquids. According to this model the main contribution to the activation energy of a flow event is the energy needed for molecules to shove aside the surrounding, an ...
