Flash butt welding corrosion of mooring chains

open access: yesCorrosion Engineering, Science and Technology, 2022
Flash butt welding is a resistance welding process that offers great advantages due to its high thermal efficiency, simplicity and high speed, makes it ideal for welding mooring chains. Despite its advantages, numerous corrosion problems are still being found in practice, both in the heat-affected zone and the weld line.

Parametric Sensitivity Analysis of Mooring Chains of a Floating Offshore Wind Turbine in Shallow Water

open access: yesJournal of Marine Science and Engineering
Floating offshore wind turbines (FOWTs) are severely restricted in numerous sea areas due to challenges from the strong nonlinear characteristics of mooring chains in shallow water (less than 50 m).

On chain conditions in moore spaces

open access: yesGeneral Topology and its Applications, 1974
AbstractA space Y has the countable chain condition (CCC) (discrete countable chain condition (DCCC)) provided each (discrete) collection of mutually exclusive open sets in Y is countable. In [16], the author showed the DCCC, the CCC and separability to be equivalent conditions in completable Moore spaces.

Design and comparative analysis of mooring systems for a combined wind and wave energy system at intermediate water depth

open access: yesJournal of Ocean Engineering and Science
For intermediate water depths (typically ranging from 50 m to 80 m), designing steel catenary mooring systems for floating marine renewable energy (FMRE) platforms can be challenging due to the limited weight of suspended mooring lines.

Anchor Chain Optimization Design of a Catenary Anchor Leg Mooring System Based on Adaptive Sampling

open access: yesJournal of Marine Science and Engineering, 2022
A catenary anchor leg mooring system (CALM) is one of the main kinds of offshore transport terminals. Its buoyancy is connected by multiple anchor chains fixed on the seabed.

Do Eco‐Emotions and Climate Change Perceptions Influence Environmentally Conscious Decisions? Implications for Business Strategies

open access: yesBusiness Strategy and the Environment, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Despite growing research on explicating travelers' decision‐making processes regarding greener travel options, there remains potential for exploring nuances of different factors and mechanisms that may encourage higher green travel. Grounded in the propositions of the push–pull–mooring framework, our study attempts to explicate whether eco ...
