Measuring the impact of observations on the predictability of the Kuroshio Extension in a shallow-water model [PDF]
In this paper sequential importance sampling is used to assess the impact of observations on a ensemble prediction for the decadal path transitions of the Kuroshio Extension (KE). This particle filtering approach gives access to the probability density of

Hydrostatic Mooring System [PDF]
This report is a summary of the following topics of the first quarter of 2000: (1) Han Padron Associates (HPA) provided conceptual structural design of the mooring buoy; and (2) they completed partial review of the HPA design and designed the sealing elements.

Emotional nourishment begets academic coping during the primary to secondary school transition
Abstract The transition from primary to secondary school is widely viewed as the most demanding in a child's educational journey. Despite a wealth of research on this transition, little is known about the children's ‘lived experience’ of it across different contexts.

Influence and optimization of mooring angle in multi-point mooring positioning system
[Objectives] In this paper, a method for calculating the static restoring force of a mooring system is proposed in order to optimize the mooring angle and meet the strength requirements of mooring lines.

Time Domain Analysis of Taut Multi-point Mooring System for New Concept FPSO in Shallow Waters
To determine the final solution of mooring system applied to the new concept FPSO-IQFP (Inverted Fillet Quadrangular Frustum Pyramid Shaped FPSO) and further evaluate the characteristics of the taut multi-point mooring system in shallow waters, the time ...
