Achievement of Transition Metal Chalcogenides/Oxides in Hydrogen Production by Seawater Electrolysis

open access: yesEcoEnergy, EarlyView.
Transition metal chalcogenides (TMCs)/oxides have shown great application potential in seawater splitting for hydrogen generation due to their adjustable electronic properties, abundant active sites, and excellent catalytic performance. ABSTRACT Under the impetus of global “dual carbon” goals, green hydrogen has become a key component of the future ...

Cu‐Doped Amorphous High‐Entropy Hydroxides Activating Electrochemical Reconstruction: Triggering LOM and Chloride Repellency for Enhanced Water and Seawater Oxidation

open access: yesENERGY &ENVIRONMENTAL MATERIALS, EarlyView.
Copper‐doped amorphous high‐entropy hydroxide (CuNiCoFeCrOH) is constructed via one‐step electrodeposition. Cu doping promotes electrochemical reconstruction by accelerating Cr leaching and re‐adsorption, triggering LOM and chloride repellency for efficient water and seawater oxidation.

Lattice‐Strained Cu2O‐Ni/NiO Heterostructure Enables Selective Electrocatalytic C–C Coupling of Alcohols to Cinnamaldehyde in Aqueous Medium

open access: yesENERGY &ENVIRONMENTAL MATERIALS, EarlyView.
This study achieved the selective oxidation C–C coupling of PhCH2OH with EtOH to form cinnamaldehyde (CAL) on a designed Cu2O‐Ni/NiO heterojunction catalyst. By employing a salt precipitation strategy to balance the pH and cation concentration, an 86% conversion rate of PhCH2OH and a 67% high selectivity for CAL were realized.
