Moraxella kingii sp.nov., a Haemolytic, Saccharolytic Species of the Genus Moraxella [PDF]
Journal of General Microbiology, 1968 SUMMARY: A new Moraxella species, Moraxella kingii, is described. It is characterized by β-haemolysis, acid production from glucose and maltose, and lack of catalase activity. The strain 4177/66, isolated from a nose swab, is designated as the type strain.

Moraxella caprae sp. nov., a New Member of the Classical Moraxellae with Very Close Affinity to Moraxella bovis [PDF]
International Journal of Systematic Bacteriology, 1995 Eight phenotypically homogeneous Moraxella-like strains were isolated from the nasal flora of healthy goats. Total genomic DNA-DNA hybridization, DNA base composition determination, and genetic transformation studies were performed to determine the relationships of these bacteria to the classical moraxellae.

Journal of General Microbiology, 1952 Eleven strains regarded as moraxellas were studied; nine were characterized by moderate growth on the usual media, a positive oxidase reaction and sensitivity to penicillin, and six of these preferred or required a humid atmosphere when incubated at 37°.
