Cloxacillin nanostructured formulation for the treatment of bovine keratoconjunctivitis
Infectious bovine keratoconjunctivitis (IBK) is a widespread, contagious ocular disease that affects cattle, especially dairy breeds. The disease is caused by Gram-negative bacteria mainly Moraxella bovis, and its treatment consists of parenteral or ...

Multi‐Targeting Carnosic Acid Kills Drug‐Resistant Helicobacter pylori With Narrow‐Spectrum Activity
Carnosic acid selectively eradicates drug‐resistant Helicobacter pylori through a multi‐targeted mechanism involving urease inhibition, membrane disruption, and biofilm eradication. It exhibits no detectable resistance, potent in vivo efficacy, and minimal impact on gut microbiota, positioning it as a promising narrow‐spectrum lead compound against ...

Moraxella: Classification and Taxonomy [PDF]
Eleven strains regarded as moraxellas were studied; nine were characterized by moderate growth on the usual media, a positive oxidase reaction and sensitivity to penicillin, and six of these preferred or required a humid atmosphere when incubated at 37°. The classification of these strains was considered correct.

Bilateral Moraxella Keratitis in a Healthy Person after an Episode of Conjunctivitis: A Case Report
Moraxella species are gram-negative diplobacilli and are rare cause of bacterial keratitis. We report a case of a 55-year-old woman presented with pain, redness and profound decrease in vision in both eyes for 2 weeks. One month back she had been treated

Vaginal host–microbe signatures linked to placental outcomes in mares
Abstract Background Ascending placentitis is a leading cause of late‐term pregnancy loss in mares. Although pathogens are presumed to ascend from the caudal reproductive tract, the association between the vaginal microbiome and placentitis has not been systematically examined.

Abstract Background Blenderized gastrostomy tube feeds are associated with reduced gastrointestinal symptoms. We hypothesize that patients receiving blenderized tube feeds, compared with standard formula, will have less gastric‐oropharyngeal microbial overlap, a possible biomarker of less gastroesophageal refluxate, and differences in beta diversity in

The alpha and beta diversity of the nasal microbiome differed among children with allergic rhinitis (AR), nonallergic rhinitis (NAR), and healthy controls (HCs). Compared to HC, AR had more Escherichia‐Shigella, Negativicoccus, and Campylobacter, while NAR had more Dolosigranulum and fewer Enterobacteriaceae.

Airway host-microbiome interactions in chronic obstructive pulmonary disease
Background Little is known about the interactions between the lung microbiome and host response in chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). Methods We performed a longitudinal 16S ribosomal RNA gene-based microbiome survey on 101 sputum samples from

Oral Health, Periodontitis, and Respiratory Diseases: Biological Pathways
This narrative review aims to provide a comprehensive update on the potential mechanisms by which poor oral health and periodontitis impact lung health, focusing on pneumonia, COPD, and asthma. ABSTRACT Poor oral hygiene and periodontitis influence lung diseases such as pneumonia, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), COVID‐19, and asthma.
