Solvent Extraction of Oil from Moringa (Moringa oleifera)
2004, Ottawa, Canada August 1 - 4, 2004, 2004We report the extraction of seed kernel oil from moringa (Moringa oleifera) with hexane, petroleum ether and acetone as the first extraction medium. Hexane yielded maximum percent oil. After optimization of particle size (0.62 mm), extraction temperature (56.5oC) and residence time (7 h) maximum extraction of oil was 33.5%.
