Decoding the dynamic extracellular matrix in cancer—3D models and bioscaffolds rewire the rules of tumor progression

Cancer progression is regulated by the dynamic matrix code of the tumor microenvironment, which influences cellular behavior and disease development. Importantly, matrix remodeling in three‐dimensional cancer models more accurately reflects in vivo conditions compared to conventional two‐dimensional systems.

Conserved binding mode but diverse interfaces of MreC‐PBP2 interactions

The crystal structure of abMreC reveals a conserved two β‐barrel architecture and provides structural insights into its role within the bacterial elongasome. The abMreC–abPBP2 complex model identifies the molecular basis of MreC‐mediated PBP2 recognition, contributing to the regulation of peptidoglycan synthesis.

Phylogenetic Analyses of Postcranial Skeletal Morphology in Didelphid Marsupials [PDF]

Abstract In this study I provide a phylogenetic hypothesis for didelphid Marsupials including a suite of 114 postcranial characters. The postcranial evidence was cladistically analyzed separately and concatenated with a nonmolecular data set previously published (71 cranio-dental-external characters).

Aging reshapes the gut microbiome (↓SCFA‐producing commensals; ↑pro‐inflammatory outputs), shifting circulating metabolites (↓SCFAs; ↑LPS, ↑TMAO, ↑PAA) that act at the BBB to increase nonspecific transcytosis, alter transport, and promote astrocyte reactivity, heightening brain vulnerability.

Revision of the Global Fauna of Leptochela Stimpson, 1860 (Crustacea: Decapoda), Highlighting Phylogenetic Clades and a New Species

Leptochela Stimpson (1860) is a shallow-water, benthopelagic genus within the predominantly pelagic superfamily Pasiphaeoidea. We inventoried a global fauna of 17 currently valid species of Leptochela and identified a newly discovered eighteenth species.

An epithelial GPR35 isoform supports tumor‐associated transcriptional and metabolic phenotypes

GPR35 generates two functionally distinct isoforms with previously unresolved roles. GPR35‐short mediates immune‐cell chemotaxis, while GPR35‐long is enriched in colorectal cancer epithelium, where it supports increased metabolism, proliferation, and tumor‐associated transcriptional programs.
