Functional and Structural Evidence of Neurofluid Circuit Aberrations in Huntington Disease

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Disrupted neurofluid regulation may contribute to neurodegeneration in Huntington disease (HD). Because neurofluid pathways influence waste clearance, inflammation, and the distribution of central nervous system (CNS)–delivered therapeutics, understanding their dysfunction is increasingly important as targeted treatments emerge.

Pseudo-morphological Operations using Set Operations

open access: yesJournal of Graphic Science of Japan, 2001

Hip Morphology–Based Osteoarthritis Risk Prediction Models: Development and External Validation Using Individual Participant Data From the World COACH Consortium

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, EarlyView.
Objective This study aims to develop hip morphology‐based radiographic hip osteoarthritis (RHOA) risk prediction models and investigates the added predictive value of hip morphology measurements and the generalizability to different populations. Methods We combined data from nine prospective cohort studies participating in the Worldwide Collaboration ...

Automatic design of morphological operators

open access: yesJournal of Electronic Imaging, 2007
A central paradigm in mathematical morphology is the decomposition (representation) of complete lattice operators (mappings) in terms of four classes of elementary operators: dilations, erosions, anti-dilations and anti-erosions. The rules for performing these representations can be described as a formal language, the morphological language [4].

USING THE ADAPTIVERANDOARMASKAUGMENTATION FUNCTION FOR MEDICAL IMAGE AUGMENTATION AND MASK INPAINTING WITH DEEP LEARNING

open access: yesMağallaẗ Al-kūfaẗ Al-handasiyyaẗ
The segmentation of medical images via deep learning is troubled by two primary issues: lack of segmented data and difficulty of shapes. Modern approaches for data augmentation have clearly surpassed classical techniques like shifting, rotating and ...

Mechanochemical Synthesis and Characterization of Nanostructured ErB4 and NdB4 Rare‐Earth Tetraborides

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, Volume 27, Issue 6, March 2025.
ErB4 and NdB4 nanostructured powders are produced by mechanochemical synthesis. 5 h mechanical alloying and 4 M HCl acid leaching are used in the production. ErB4 and NdB4 powders exhibit maximum magnetization of 0.4726 emu g−1 accompanied with an antiferromagnetic‐to‐paramagnetic phase transition at about TN = 18 K and 0.132 emu g−1 with a maximum at ...

Grayscale morphological attribute operations

open access: yesThe Insight Journal, 2007
Morphological area attribute openings and closings are connected set operations that are able to remove parts of an image that meet certain criteria without changing the rest of the image. This article describes a number of classes that implement morphological area attribute operations using the methods described by Meijster and Wilkinson .

Using the discrete hadamard transform to detect moving objects in surveillance video [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
In this paper we present an approach to object detection in surveillance video based on detecting moving edges using the Hadamard transform. The proposed method is characterized by robustness to illumination changes and ghosting effects and provides ...

Enhancing Corrosion Resistance and Mechanical Strength of 3D‐Printed Iron Polylactic Acid for Marine Applications via Laser Surface Texturing

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Laser surface texturing significantly improves the corrosion resistance and mechanical strength of 3D‐printed iron polylactic acid (Ir‐PLA) for marine applications. Optimal laser parameters reduce corrosion by 80% and enhance tensile strength by 25% and ductility by 15%.
