Urban morphology and artificial intelligence [PDF]
This commentary aims to concisely introduce artificial intelligence and urbantech for urban morphologists. We are in a midst of a new revolution in machine learning with 'neural nets' capable of understanding human speech and written language and ...

On nonlocal mathematical morphology [PDF]
S.219-230In this paper, nonlocal mathematical morphology operators are introduced as a natural extension of nonlocal-means in the max-plus algebra. Firstly, we show that nonlocal morphology is a particular case of adaptive morphology.

We introduce a morphological approach to curve evolution. The differential operators used in the standard PDE snake models can be approached using morphological operations on a binary level set. By combining the morphological operators associated to the PDE components we achieve a new snakes evolution algorithm.

Advances in Morphological Theory: Construction Morphology and Relational Morphology
In recent years, construction-based approaches to morphology have gained ground in the research community. This framework is characterized by the assumption that the mental lexicon is extensive and richly structured, containing not only a large number of stored words but also a wide variety of generalizations in the form of schemas.

Ontogeny of neuro-insular complexes and islets innervation in the human pancreas.
The ontogeny of the neuro-insular complexes (NIC) and the islets innervation in human pancreas has not been studied in detail. Our aim was to describe the developmental dynamics and distribution of the nervous system structures in the endocrine part of ...
