Assessing the Controls of Landscape Evolution in the Cauvery River Basin, South India, through Watershed Scale Morphometric Indices

Journal of the Geological Society of India
On a dynamic spatial-temporal scale, the complex interactions between tectonics, climate, and lithology influence and control landscape evolution. Quantitative morphometric parameters provide insights into these influences and resultant spatiotemporal ...

Use of morphometric indices in drainage network changes Indicators in the Kordkanlo Basin)

2020
The Kordkanlo Basin, one of the Atrak sub-basins, located in the northeastern of the Ghoochan city, the Khorasan Razavi Province; is situated in Kopet Dagh geologic zone. The overall objective of this study is to evaluate the morphotectonic effects on the drainage network of the basin, using morphometric indicators.

Morphometric characterization and zoometric indices of white Morada Nova breed: The first step for conservation

Small Ruminant Research, 2020
The objective of this study was to carry out a morphometric characterization of white Morada Nova sheep using the mean of sixteen (16) morphological traits and thirteen (13) zoometric indices. A total of 115 animals of seven (7) flocks in three states of

Morphometric and flow indicator studies of the teleost heart

Canadian Journal of Zoology, 1975
The structure of the heart of four species of Alaskan fishes (Thymallus arcticus, Esox lucius, Lota lota, and Catostomus catostomus) was examined in varying detail. The ventricle constitutes 0.07 to 0.09% of the body weight, 26 to 35% of which consists of an outer, cortical layer, and the balance a spongy, trabeculated inner layer. Blood supply to the

Perfluoroalkyl substances associations with morphometric health indices in three fish species from differentially contaminated water bodies in Southeastern Brazil

, 2020
Environmental perfluoroalkyl substance (PFAS) concentrations have increased in the last decades, although their behaviour in the environment and potential deleterious effects are still unclear. In this context, the present study aimed to assess potential

MORPHOMETRIC AND ECONOMIC VALUE INDICATORS OF SUNFLOWER SUBLINES

13th International Conference Proceedings "Actual Issues of Biology, Breeding, Cultivation and Prosessing Technologies of Agricultural Crops"
The article presents the results of the study of 17 sublines of VK 23-imi, as well as hybrid combinations with their participation. Over two years of research, stability in plant height was found in the lines VK 23-imi/3, VK 23-imi/14 and VK 23-imi/11, the latter also showed the same result in the head diameter.

Morphometric indices of body condition in birds: a review

Journal of Ornithology, 2011
Morphometric estimates of body condition are widely used by ornithologists, but which estimates work best is a matter of debate. We review morphometric approaches (body mass, ratio and residual condition indices, predictive regression models, fat scoring, and abdominal profiles) for estimating body condition (defined as fat mass) in birds.

Sexual dimorphism in body weight, morphometric measures and indices of African Catfish (Clarias gariepinus)

Aquaculture, 2019
A total of 219 catfish (Clarias gariepinus) comprising 125 Male and 94 Female raised over a period of nine months from hatch were investigated for body weight, eight morphometric measures and two indices.

Behavior of morphometric indices in pancreatic elastase-induced emphysema in rats

Lung, 1990
Two morphometric indices, the destructive index (DI), a measure of alveolar wall destruction, and the proportion of destroyed alveolar attachments to the airways (AA), have been proposed as measures of early lung destruction in human smokers. The aim of this study was to compare DI and AA to the usual measure of airspace enlargement--the mean linear ...
