Our understanding of the recolonization of northwest Europe in the period leading up to the Lateglacial Interstadial relies heavily on discoveries from Gough's Cave (Somerset, UK). Gough's Cave is the richest Late Upper Palaeolithic site in the British Isles, yielding an exceptional array of human remains, stone and organic artefacts, and butchered ...

Wilson-like fermions and the static B_B parameter with no chirality breaking mixings
I consider the recent proposal by R. Frezzotti and G. Rossi to chirally improve Wilson fermions in such a way that mixings among operators of different chirality can be excluded.

Standard Model parameters and heavy quarks on the lattice [PDF]
I review recent progresses in heavy quarks physics on the lattice. I focus on decay constants and form factors relevant for the extraction of CKM matrix elements from experimental data. B-\bar{B} mixing is also discussed.

While death remains a popular topic for anthropology, relatively few ethnographic accounts consider the modern bureaucratic processes accompanying it. One such process is public health autopsy, which scholars have largely taken for granted. Existing analysis has regarded it as a form of ‘cultural brokering’ and autopsy reluctance in communities is seen,

I argue that the beginnings of modern cremation were shaped by bourgeois men who claimed certain identifiers for themselves in a gendering and Othering way.

Giornalista, critico letterario, romanziere e saggista, Maurice Blanchot ha il merito di aver costantemente interrogato il confine incerto tra la parola filosofica e quella della finzione.

Quenched twisted mass QCD at small quark masses and in large volume [PDF]
As a test of quenched lattice twisted mass QCD, we compute the non-perturbatively O($a$) improved pseudoscalar and vector meson masses and the pseudoscalar decay constant down to $M_{\rm PS}/M_{\rm V} = 0.467(13)$ at $\beta=6$ in large volume.
