Disordered but rhythmic—the role of intrinsic protein disorder in eukaryotic circadian timing

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Unstructured domains known as intrinsically disordered regions (IDRs) are present in nearly every part of the eukaryotic core circadian oscillator. IDRs enable many diverse inter‐ and intramolecular interactions that support clock function. IDR conformations are highly tunable by post‐translational modifications and environmental conditions, which ...

Electroweak and left-right phase transitions in SO(5)×U(1)×SU(3) gauge-Higgs unification

open access: yesPhysical Review, 2021
The electroweak phase transition in grand unified theory inspired SO(5)×U(1)×SU(3) gauge-Higgs unification is shown to be weakly first order and occurs at T=TcEW∼163 GeV, which is very similar to the behavior in the standard model in perturbation theory. A new phase appears at higher temperatures.

Protein pyrophosphorylation by inositol pyrophosphates — detection, function, and regulation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Protein pyrophosphorylation is an unusual signaling mechanism that was discovered two decades ago. It can be driven by inositol pyrophosphate messengers and influences various cellular processes. Herein, we summarize the research progress and challenges of this field, covering pathways found to be regulated by this posttranslational modification as ...

The role of histone modifications in transcription regulation upon DNA damage

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This review discusses the critical role of histone modifications in regulating gene expression during the DNA damage response (DDR). By modulating chromatin structure and recruiting repair factors, these post‐translational modifications fine‐tune transcriptional programmes to maintain genomic stability.

Study of BsK(*)+ decays in the PQCD factorization approach with lattice QCD input

open access: yesPhysical Review, 2020
In this paper, we studied systematically the semileptonic decays B¯s→K(*)ℓ+ℓ− with l−=(e−,μ−,τ−) by using the perturbative QCD (PQCD) and the “PQCD+Lattice” factorization approach, respectively. We first evaluated all relevant form factors Fi(q2) in the low-q2 region using the PQCD approach, and we also took the available lattice QCD results at the end

Substrate specificity of Burkholderia pseudomallei multidrug transporters is influenced by the hydrophilic patch in the substrate‐binding pocket

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Multidrug transporters BpeB and BpeF from the Gram‐negative pathogen Burkholderia pseudomallei have a hydrophilic patch in their substrate‐binding pocket. Drug susceptibility tests and growth curve analyses using an Escherichia coli recombinant expression system revealed that the hydrophilic patches of BpeB and BpeF are involved in the substrate ...
