Phosphatidylinositol 4‐kinase as a target of pathogens—friend or foe?
This graphical summary illustrates the roles of phosphatidylinositol 4‐kinases (PI4Ks). PI4Ks regulate key cellular processes and can be hijacked by pathogens, such as viruses, bacteria and parasites, to support their intracellular replication. Their dual role as essential host enzymes and pathogen cofactors makes them promising drug targets.

Model Order Selection Rules For Covariance Structure Classification
The adaptive classification of the interference covariance matrix structure for radar signal processing applications is addressed in this paper. This represents a key issue because many detection architectures are synthesized assuming a specific ...

Crosstalk between the ribosome quality control‐associated E3 ubiquitin ligases LTN1 and RNF10
Loss of the E3 ligase LTN1, the ubiquitin‐like modifier UFM1, or the deubiquitinating enzyme UFSP2 disrupts endoplasmic reticulum–ribosome quality control (ER‐RQC), a pathway that removes stalled ribosomes and faulty proteins. This disruption may trigger a compensatory response to ER‐RQC defects, including increased expression of the E3 ligase RNF10 ...

Simulation of Electrical Parameters for Ru/Ta2O5/SiO2/Si(p) High-k MOS Structure
The contribution presents the results of simulation of direct tunnelling of free charge carriers through a thin gateinsulator in MOS structures consisting of a Ta2O5/SiO2 bilayer taking into account also indirect tunnelling of free chargecarriers through

High pressure effect on structure, electronic structure and thermoelectric properties of MoS$_2$
We systematically study the effect of high pressure on the structure, electronic structure and transport properties of 2H-MoS$_2$, based on first-principles density functional calculations and the Boltzmann transport theory.

Electronic structure of the Mo(001) surface [PDF]
We report computed results of the surface band structures of a molybdenum (001) surface by employing a self-consistent semirelativistic version of the full potential linearized augmented-plane-wave method. Computation was carried out for a seven-layer slab of bulk-truncated (1\ifmmode\times\else\texttimes\fi{}1) Mo(001) surface, ignoring the spin-orbit

Protein pyrophosphorylation by inositol pyrophosphates — detection, function, and regulation
Protein pyrophosphorylation is an unusual signaling mechanism that was discovered two decades ago. It can be driven by inositol pyrophosphate messengers and influences various cellular processes. Herein, we summarize the research progress and challenges of this field, covering pathways found to be regulated by this posttranslational modification as ...
