Genetic diversity and phylogeography of cassava mosaic geminiviruses in Madagascar. [S02-12] [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Cassava mosaic disease (CMD) caused by cassava mosaic geminiviruses (CMGs, Geminiviridae) is a major threat on cassava production throughout Africa. In Madagascar, severe symptoms with high prevalence of CMD were observed.

Laue Lens Development for Hard X-rays (>60 keV)

open access: yes, 2005
Results of reflectivity measurements of mosaic crystal samples of Cu (111) are reported. These tests were performed in the context of a feasibility study of a hard X-ray focusing telescope for space astronomy with energy passband from 60 to 600 keV.

Insights about clonal hematopoiesis from 8,342 mosaic chromosomal alterations

open access: yesNature, 2018
The selective pressures that shape clonal evolution in healthy individuals are largely unknown. Here we investigate 8,342 mosaic chromosomal alterations, from 50 kb to 249 Mb long, that we uncovered in blood-derived DNA from 151,202 UK Biobank ...

Tumour–host interactions in Drosophila: mechanisms in the tumour micro‐ and macroenvironment

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This review examines how tumour–host crosstalk takes place at multiple levels of biological organisation, from local cell competition and immune crosstalk to organism‐wide metabolic and physiological collapse. Here, we integrate findings from Drosophila melanogaster studies that reveal conserved mechanisms through which tumours hijack host systems to ...

Epidemiology of ChiVMV and loss assessment in capsicum (Capsicum annum var. grossum Sendt)

open access: yesJournal of Horticultural Sciences, 2022
The survey was conducted during rabi season (2021) to determine the incidence of mosaic disease of capsicum in major capsicum growing districts namely, Chikkaballapura, Kolar, Bengaluru rural and Ramanagar. The per cent incidence of mosaic disease based

Pathogenic Neurofibromatosis type 1 gene variants in tumors of non‐NF1 patients and role of R1276

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Somatic variants of the neurofibromatosis type 1 (NF1) gene occur across neoplasms without clinical manifestation of the disease NF1. We identified emerging somatic pathogenic NF1 variants and hotspots, for example, at the arginine finger 1276. Those missense variants provide fundamental information about neurofibromin's role in cancer.

Longitudinal In Vivo Assessment of Host-Microbe Interactions in a Murine Model of Pulmonary Aspergillosis

open access: yesiScience, 2019
Summary: The fungus Aspergillus fumigatus is ubiquitous in nature and the most common cause of invasive pulmonary aspergillosis (IPA) in patients with a compromised immune system. The development of IPA in patients under immunosuppressive treatment or in

Mosaic nanoparticle display of diverse influenza virus hemagglutinins elicits broad B cell responses

open access: yesNature Immunology, 2018
The present vaccine against influenza virus has the inevitable risk of antigenic discordance between the vaccine and the circulating strains, which diminishes vaccine efficacy.
