PIK3CA Mutations Downregulate PPT1 to Promote Adipogenesis by Suppressing P300 Depalmitoylation and Phase Separation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study demonstrates that somatic PIK3CA mutations suppress PPT1 expression via activation of the PI3K–AKT–c‐JUN axis. This reduction in PPT1 weakens its interaction with P300, thereby increasing palmitoylation at C1176 of P300 and protecting P300 from lysosomal degradation.

Studying the ICM in clusters of galaxies via surface brightness fluctuations of the cosmic X-ray background

open access: yes, 2017
We study the surface brightness fluctuations of the cosmic X-ray background (CXB) using Chandra data of XBOOTES. After masking out resolved sources we compute the power spectrum of fluctuations of the unresolved CXB for angular scales from ~2 arcsec to ...

Innovative dust detection and efficient cleaning of PV Panels: A CNN‑RF approach using I–V curve data transformed into RGB mosaics

open access: yesEnergy Conversion and Management: X
Photovoltaic (PV) panels are vital for renewable energy generation, yet their efficiency is critically hindered by environmental challenges such as dust accumulation, especially in arid regions like the UAE. Dust buildup can reduce efficiency by up to 30%

How Particle Size Affects Consolidation Behavior, Strain and Properties of Li6PS5Cl Fast Ionic Conductors

open access: yesAdvanced Energy Materials, EarlyView.
The densification process of Li6PS5Cl powders with varying particles size distributions reveals differences in smaller and larger distributions. Higher strain is revealed for the smaller particle size distribution from X‐ray diffraction. Discrete element method simulations uncover that the reason for the higher strain is not the particle size itself ...

Constitutional Mosaic Epimutations – a hidden cause of cancer?

open access: yesCell Stress, 2019
Silencing of tumor suppressor genes by promoter hypermethylation is a key mechanism to facilitate cancer progression in many malignancies. While promoter hypermethylation can occur at later stages of the carcinogenesis process, constitutional methylation
