Emerging evidence of seed transmission of begomoviruses: implications in global circulation and disease outbreak

open access: yesFrontiers in Plant Science
Begomoviruses (family Geminiviridae) are known for causing devastating diseases in fruit, fibre, pulse, and vegetable crops throughout the world. Begomoviruses are transmitted in the field exclusively through insect vector whitefly (Bemisia tabaci), and ...

A spatial analysis of physiological changes associated with infection of cotyledons of marrow plants with cucumber mosaic virus [PDF]

open access: yes, 1996
Changes in host primary metabolism associated with the compatible interaction between cucumber mosaic virus and cotyledons of the marrow plant (Cucurbita pepo L.) have been localized, first by measuring activities of key enzymes in infected and ...

Exploration of Novel Biomarkers Through a Precision Medicine Approach Using Multi‐Omics and Brain Organoids in Patients With Atypical Depression and Psychotic Symptoms

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study examines major depressive disorder with atypical features and psychotic symptoms through a multi‐omics precision medicine approach. By integrating clinical assessments, WBC scRNA‐seq, plasma proteomics, and brain organoid models, it uncovers immune dysregulation, synaptic protein alterations, and stress‐sensitive neuronal changes.

Brome Mosaic Virus

open access: yes, 2008
Brome mosaic virus (BMV) is an isometric, nonenveloped positive-strand RNA virus and a well-studied, representative member of the alphavirus-like superfamily of human, animal, and plant viruses. BMV has been extensively studied as a model for viral RNA replication, gene expression, virus–host interactions, recombination, and encapsidation.

A Coding SNP in GmPM30 Enhances Soybean Salinity Tolerance and Yield through the GmLEA1‐GmPM30‐GmLEC1 Module

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A natural variation in soybean PM30, GmPM30‐HapT, confers greater salt tolerance than GmPM30‐HapC via stronger GmLEA1‐GmPM30‐GmLEC1 interactions. Pyramiding their elite haplotypes yields additive gains in salt tolerance and yield, establishing a novel workflow linking evolutionary genomics, molecular mechanisms, and breeding applications via the module

Survey on The Occurrence of Viruses Infecting Cucurbits in Yogyakarta and Central Java

open access: yesJurnal Perlindungan Tanaman Indonesia, 2009
Cucurbits are grown throughout the Java Island as dry season crops. Plants having mosaic, mottling, chlorosis and leaf distortion symptoms were frequently found in most of the cucurbit fields during the survey which conducted in Central Java including ...

ORAL IMMUNOGENICITY OF A PLANT VIRUS VECTOR BASED PORCINE CIRCOVIRUS ANTIGEN [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
A recombinant cucumber mosaic virus based expression system has been developed for the production of an immunogenic porcine circovirus epitope. The resulting nanoparticle was shown to elicit specific immune response in mice and pigs, when administered

RING‐Between‐RING‐Type E3 Ligase Ariadne‐Like Protein 8 Negatively Regulates Plant Virus Infection by Targeting a Viral Movement Protein

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The plant RING‐between‐RING (RBR)‐type E3 ligase, Ariadne‐like protein 8 (ARI8), ubiquitinates and degrades a viral movement protein, restricting virus spread. ARI8 also inhibits other triple gene block 1 (TGB1)‐containing viruses, revealing a broad‐spectrum antiviral role.
