Touchless Multiview Fingerprint Acquisition and Mosaicking
Touchless fingerprint capture devices have the advantage over traditional touch-based approaches of being hygienic and preventing distortions resulting from the contact of fingers. Single-view acquisition systems bring in problems, such as scene difference and a limited effective area.

Mosaicking images with parallax
Signal Processing: Image Communication, 2004In recent years, image mosaicking has been a focus of attention of many researchers and practitioners. Existing mosaicking methods are effective only in limited cases where the camera motion is almost a pure rotation or the viewed scene is planar or very far away.

Optimized graph-based mosaicking for virtual microscopy
Virtual microscopy has the potential to partially replace traditional microscopy. For virtualization, the slide is scanned once by a fully automatized robotic microscope and saved digitally. Typically, such a scan results in several hundreds to thousands of fields of view.

A review of parallel computing for large-scale remote sensing image mosaicking [PDF]
Interest in image mosaicking has been spurred by a wide variety of research and management needs. However, for large-scale applications, remote sensing image mosaicking usually requires significant computational capabilities.

Precision Registration and Mosaicking of Multicamera Images
IEEE Transactions on Geoscience and Remote Sensing, 2009A method for registering and mosaicking multicamera images is described. Registration is achieved using control points and projective transformation, paying special attention to factors that contribute to the precision registration of images. Among the corresponding control points found in overlapping images, those that best satisfy the projective ...

Mosaicking of optical remote sensing imagery
IGARSS 2003. 2003 IEEE International Geoscience and Remote Sensing Symposium. Proceedings (IEEE Cat. No.03CH37477), 2004Recent remote sensing applications are moving from an interpretation of single image swaths to regional mosaics. Within-swath and between-swath radiometric variations and ortho-rectification errors, especially for airborne sensors with a wide field of view, cause most of the problems during the mosaicking process.

Fingerprint Mosaicking by Rolling and Sliding
2005In this paper, we propose a new scheme that a user enrolls his fingerprint images sequentially captured by rolling and sliding his finger, thus continuously contacting on the sensor. We also developed an image-fusion algorithm to mosaic the images obtained by the enrollment scheme.

Fingerprint Image Mosaicking by Recursive Ridge Mapping
IEEE Transactions on Systems, Man and Cybernetics, Part B (Cybernetics), 2007To obtain a large fingerprint image from several small partial images, mosaicking of fingerprint images has been recently researched. However, existing approaches cannot provide accurate transformations for mosaics when it comes to aligning images because of the plastic distortion that may occur due to the nonuniform contact between a finger and a ...

New methods for dynamic mosaicking
IEEE Transactions on Image Processing, 2001This paper presents a new technique for the creation of a sequence of mosaic images from an original video shot. A mosaic image represents, on a single image, the scene background seen all over the sequence and its creation requires the estimation of the warping parameters and the use of a blending technique.
