Optimal criterion for dynamic mosaicking

Proceedings 1999 International Conference on Image Processing (Cat. 99CH36348), 2003
The paper presents a technique for the creation of a sequence of mosaic images from an original video shot. A mosaic image represents, on a single image, the scene background seen all over the sequence and its creation requires the estimation of the warping parameters and the use of a blending technique.

Subregion mosaicking applied to nonideal iris recognition

2014 IEEE Symposium on Computational Intelligence in Biometrics and Identity Management (CIBIM), 2014
Image mosaicking technology, as an image processing technology that can aggregate the information from a sequence of images, has been used to process large size images. In this paper, we are trying to apply the mosaicking technology to nonideal iris recognition study. The proposed algorithm composes the information from a collection of iris images, and

Region-based image registration for mosaicking

International Journal of Computer Applications in Technology, 2010
In this paper, a method for image registration using 2D regions as correspondence features is proposed. The proposed method consists of three stages. First, a region segmentation technique is used to find reasonably good regions in image pairs. Second, an adjacency relationship based region matching technique is proposed to find corresponding regions ...

Image mosaicking applied to three-dimensional surfaces

Proceedings of 12th International Conference on Pattern Recognition, 2002
Image mosaicking consists in fusing images acquired from different places to build a global view of a scene. In this paper we present a method to mosaic images lying on three-dimensional surfaces. A rough model of the surface and the parameters of the projection permit images to be flattened. Then images are merged with a 2D technique of mosaicking. We

Graph-based Automatic Consistent Image Mosaicking

2004 IEEE International Conference on Robotics and Biomimetics, 2005
Consistent image mosaicking is a potentially useful tool for robot navigation and map construction. This paper presents an automatic algorithm to generate consistent image mosaicking. During the robot processing, local optimization based on the related previous images is used for every newly added image on the baseline approach view.

Fully automated mosaicking of pushbroom aerial imagery

2008 IEEE International Conference on Acoustics, Speech and Signal Processing, 2008
This communication addresses the problem of the automatic mosaicking of raw images acquired by airborne pushbroom imagers. Using appropriate ancillary data issued from GPS and inertial measurements, we show how the mutual information criterion can be used to improve the co-registration and direct georeferencing of overlapping flight lines by estimating

Generic MSFA mosaicking and demosaicking for multispectral cameras

SPIE Proceedings, 2006
In this paper, we investigate the potential application of the multispectral filter array (MSFA) techniques in multispectral imaging for reasons like low cost, exact registration, and strong robustness. In both human and many animal visual systems, different types of photoreceptors are organized into mosaic patterns.

Globally consistent alignment for mosaicking aerial images

2015 IEEE International Conference on Image Processing (ICIP), 2015
In this paper, we present a robust method to efficiently create a globally consistent and seamless mosaic from aerial images. Firstly, a globally consistent registration strategy is proposed to align the aerial images in a common coordinate system, which combines the affine model with the homographic model effectively.

Super-resolution mosaicking of UAV surveillance video

2008 15th IEEE International Conference on Image Processing, 2008
This paper explains and implements our efficient multi-frame super-resolution mosaicking algorithm. In this algorithm, feature points between images are matched using SIFT, and then random M-least squares is used to estimate the homography between frames. Next, separate frames are registered and the overlapping region is extracted.

Review of Techniques and Technologies for Mosaicking Ultrasound Volumes

Ultrasound in Medicine & Biology
Ultrasound imaging, known for its affordability, portability and real-time capabilities, has become a crucial diagnostic tool worldwide. However, the limited field of view in 2-D ultrasound and reduced anatomical coverage in current 3-D systems have prompted the development of volumetric compounding.
