For a very long time, mosquitoes have been known or suspected to consume plant liquids. Recently eclosed mosquitoes cannot survive long without consuming sugary plant liquids that provide fuel for flight and enable blood‐feeding and mating.

A novel immuno‐piezoelectric transducer is innovatively developed. This device promotes neural stem cell (NSC) differentiation and maturation via ultrasound‐induced electrical stimulation and it amplifies the therapeutic efficacy of NSC in traumatic brain injury (TBI) by modulating the immune microenvironment. This piezoelectric transducer with “immune‐

In this study, we repurposed human Aurora kinase‐specific inhibitors to identify potential antimalarial agents. Two inhibitors, hesperadin and TAE684, exhibited sub‐micromolar activity across multiple parasite stages, with hesperadin demonstrating significant potency and selectivity by specifically targeting PfArk1.

Disruption of spatiotemporal clustering in dengue cases by wMel Wolbachia in Yogyakarta, Indonesia
Dengue exhibits focal clustering in households and neighborhoods, driven by local mosquito population dynamics, human population immunity, and fine scale human and mosquito movement.

Live calcium imaging of Aedes aegypti neuronal tissues reveals differential importance of chemosensory systems for life-history-specific foraging strategies. [PDF]
BackgroundThe mosquito Aedes aegypti has a wide variety of sensory pathways that have supported its success as a species as well as a highly competent vector of numerous debilitating infectious pathogens.

Smart wing rotation and trailing-edge vortices enable high frequency mosquito flight
Mosquitoes exhibit unusual wing kinematics; their long, slender wings flap at remarkably high frequencies for their size (>800 Hz)and with lower stroke amplitudes than any other insect group. This shifts weight support away from the translation-dominated,

This review explores how antibody engineering and display technologies are driving therapeutic advances against mosquito‐borne orthoflaviviruses such as Zika, dengue, and yellow fever viruses. It highlights diverse neutralizing targets on the envelope protein, including the conserved fusion loop, and discusses how Fc engineering, rational antigen ...

Efficacy of Two Common Methods of Application of Residual Insecticide for Controlling the Asian Tiger Mosquito, Aedes albopictus (Skuse), in Urban Areas [PDF]
After its first introduction in the 1980's the Asian tiger mosquito, Aedes albopictus (Skuse), has spread throughout Southern Europe. Ae. albopictus is considered an epidemiologically important vector for the transmission of many viral pathogens such as ...
