Markerless 3D facial motion capture system

SPIE Proceedings, 2012
We propose a novel markerless 3D facial motion capture system using only one common camera. This system is simple and easy to transfer facial expressions of a user's into virtual world. It has robustly tracking facial feature points associated with head movements. In addition, it estimates high accurate 3D points' locations.

CUDA Acceleration of 3D Dynamic Scene Reconstruction and 3D Motion Estimation for Motion Capture

2012 IEEE 18th International Conference on Parallel and Distributed Systems, 2012
Tracking of 3D human body movement from multiple camera video streams is an important problem in the domain of computer vision. In this paper we perform body pose tracking in 3D space using 3D data reconstructed at every frame. We present an efficient GPU-based method for 3D reconstruction of the real world dynamic scenes.

Gait Recognition from Markerless 3D Motion Capture

2019 International Conference on Biometrics (ICB), 2019
State of the art gait recognition methods often make use of the shape of the body as well as its movement, as observed in the use of Gait Energy Images(GEIs), for recognition. However, it is desirable to have a method that works exclusively with the movement of the body, as clothing and other factors may interfere with the biometric signature from body

High speed 3D shape and motion capturing system

ACM SIGGRAPH 2010 Posters, 2010
A 3D motion capturing and reconstructing system at high speed is presented. The system utilizes the fringe projection technique with one modified DLP projector, one camera and a computing unit to provide real-time reconstruction of forty-two 3D frames per second with the relative accuracy of 1/5000.

The design and calibration of a 3D motion capture system for arthropods

2013 28th International Conference on Image and Vision Computing New Zealand (IVCNZ 2013), 2013
In this paper we discuss the design and calibration of a motion capture system for small animal motion. In particular we are interested in reconstructing a moving 3D model of the Otago Fishing Spider (Dolomedes aquaticus) in order to analyse its gait and locomotion. The system consists of a high speed camera mounted above an arena surrounded by mirrors,

Optical Fiber 3D Shape Sensor for Motion Capture

2019 IEEE Conference on Virtual Reality and 3D User Interfaces (VR), 2019
An optical fiber $3\text{D}$ shape sensor for motion capture is reported. The probe is comprised of Bragg grating strain sensors embedded into a $3\text{D}$ -printed polymer fiber substrate, allowing for the continuous assessment of the bending magnitude and direction.

Use of Motion Capture in 3D Animation: Motion Capture Systems, Challenges, and Recent Trends

2019 International Conference on Machine Learning, Big Data, Cloud and Parallel Computing (COMITCon), 2019
In today’s world capturing of motion from a video stream is a growing and challenging area. Motion capture system (Mocap) is widely used in today’s realistic world including sports, entertainment, video gaming and many more. In this paper, firstly we provide an overview of different types of Mocap on the basis of Marker-based Mocap and Markerless Mocap

Generic Initialization for Motion Capture from 3D Shape

2010
Real time and markerless motion capture is an active research area, due to applications in human-computer interactions, for example. A large part of the existing markerless motion capture methods require an initialization step, consisting in finding the initial position of the different limbs of the subject.

Learning-based 3D human motion capture and animation synthesis

2023
