Multisensor-fusion for 3D full-body human motion capture

2010 IEEE Computer Society Conference on Computer Vision and Pattern Recognition, 2010
In this work, we present an approach to fuse video with orientation data obtained from extended inertial sensors to improve and stabilize full-body human motion capture. Even though video data is a strong cue for motion analysis, tracking artifacts occur frequently due to ambiguities in the images, rapid motions, occlusions or noise. As a complementary

A Distributed Approach to 3D Reconstruction in Marker Motion Capture Systems

Proceedings of the 13th International Conference on Distributed Smart Cameras, 2019
Optical motion capture systems have attracted much interest over the past years, due to their advantages with respect to non-optical counterparts. Moreover, with the technological advances on camera devices, computer graphics and computational methodologies, it becomes technically and economically feasible to consider motion capture systems made of ...

3D tree modeling using motion capture

2012 IEEE 4th International Symposium on Plant Growth Modeling, Simulation, Visualization and Applications, 2012
Recovering tree shape from motion capture data is a first step toward efficient and accurate animation of trees in wind using motion capture data. Existing algorithms for generating models of tree branching structures for image synthesis in computer graphics are not adapted to the unique data set provided by motion capture. We present a method for tree

Gait recognition based on marker-less 3D motion capture

2013 10th IEEE International Conference on Advanced Video and Signal Based Surveillance, 2013
We present an algorithm for view-independent gait-based person identification. The identification is achieved using data obtained by our marker-less 3D motion tracking algorithm. The motion tracking was accomplished by a particle swarm optimization algorithm. The accuracy of the motion tracking algorithm was evaluated using ground-truth data from MoCap.

Illumination-Invariant Robust Multiview 3D Human Motion Capture

2018 IEEE Winter Conference on Applications of Computer Vision (WACV), 2018
In this work we address the problem of capturing human body motion under changing lighting conditions in a multiview setup. In order to account for changing lighting conditions we propose to use an intermediate image representation that is invariant to the scene lighting.

Efficient Query Processing in 3D Motion Capture Gesture Databases

International Journal of Semantic Computing, 2016
One of the most fundamental challenges when accessing gestural patterns in 3D motion capture databases is the definition of spatiotemporal similarity. While distance-based similarity models such as the Gesture Matching Distance on gesture signatures are able to leverage the spatial and temporal characteristics of gestural patterns, their applicability

The Application of Motion Capture and 3D Skeleton Modeling in Virtual Fighting

2017
With the rapid development of new technology, motion capture technology has been widely used in film and television animation, motion analysis, medical research and game design. Especially in the game design, we not only gain the real-time motion data, but also consider the motion data and three-dimensional model matching.

Anatomical-Marker-Driven 3D Markerless Human Motion Capture

IEEE Journal of Biomedical and Health Informatics
Marker-based motion capture (mocap) is a conventional method used in biomechanics research to precisely analyze human movement. However, the time-consuming marker placement process and extensive post-processing limit its wider adoption. Therefore, markerless mocap systems that use deep learning to estimate 2D keypoint from images have emerged as a ...
