Fast and Accurate Background Reconstruction Using Background Bootstrapping

open access: yesJournal of Imaging, 2022
The goal of background reconstruction is to recover the background image of a scene from a sequence of frames showing this scene cluttered by various moving objects.

High Accuracy Motion Detection Algorithm via ISM Band FMCW Radar

open access: yesRemote Sensing, 2021
The conventional frequency modulated continuous wave (FMCW) radar accuracy range detection algorithm is based on the frequency estimation and additional phase evaluation which contains Fourier transform and frequency refining analysis in each chirp, so ...

Motion Region Detection and Pattern Extraction Algorithm of a Motion Image Based on a Radar Sensor [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Electromagnetic Engineering and Science, 2019
In this paper, a motion region detection and pattern extraction algorithm is proposed for motion recognition based on the image as the distance changes between the radar sensor and human motion.

Acute Application of Imidacloprid Alters the Sensitivity of Direction Selective Motion Detecting Neurons in an Insect Pollinator

open access: yesFrontiers in Physiology, 2021
Cholinergic pesticides, such as the neonicotinoid imidacloprid, are the most important insecticides used for plant protection worldwide. In recent decades, concerns have been raised about side effects on non-target insect species, including altered ...

Nearly Panoramic Neuromorphic Vision with Transparent Photosynapses

open access: yesAdvanced Science, 2023
Neuromorphic vision based on photonic synapses has the ability to mimic sensitivity, adaptivity, and sophistication of bio‐visual systems. Significant advances in artificial photosynapses are achieved recently. However, conventional photosyanptic devices

Detection of In-Plane Movement in Electrically Actuated Microelectromechanical Systems Using a Scanning Electron Microscope

open access: yesMicromachines, 2023
The measurement of in-plane motion in microelectromechanical systems (MEMS) is a challenge for existing measurement techniques due to the small size of the moving devices and the low amplitude of motion. This paper studied the possibility of using images

Reducing Bitrate and Increasing the Quality of Inter Frame by Avoiding Quantization Errors in Stationary Blocks [PDF]

open access: yesEAI Endorsed Transactions on Industrial Networks and Intelligent Systems, 2020
In image compression and video coding, quantization error helps to reduce the amount of information ofthe high frequency components. However, in temporal prediction the quantization error contributes its valueas noise in the total residual information ...

Detecting Moving Vehicles from Satellite-Based Videos by Tracklet Feature Classification

open access: yesRemote Sensing, 2022
Satellite-based video enables potential vehicle monitoring and tracking for urban traffic management. However, due to the tiny size of moving vehicles and cluttered background, it is difficult to distinguish actual targets from random noise and pseudo ...

Detection and Tracking of Independent Motion. [PDF]

open access: yesProcedings of the British Machine Vision Conference 1995, 1995
We describe an efficient method of using a translating camera to detect and track independently translating objects and assess the likelihood of a collision. By analysing the underlying geometry, it is shown that the tracking is reduced to two independent linear searches for a single feature in the image plane.

Can Plants Sense Humans? Using Plants as Biosensors to Detect the Presence of Eurythmic Gestures

open access: yesSensors, 2023
This paper describes the preliminary results of measuring the impact of human body movements on plants. The scope of this project is to investigate if a plant perceives human activity in its vicinity.
