Dynamic Analysis of Hula Hoop Motion and Optimized Energy Harvest Circuit
Volume 8: 22nd Reliability, Stress Analysis, and Failure Prevention Conference; 25th Conference on Mechanical Vibration and Noise, 2013The nonlinear dynamics of hula hoop motion is deciphered in this study by nonlinear dynamic modeling techniques to find solution and stability analysis. This is different from the previous study [1], where a homotopy method is employed. The analysis results are capable of transforming linear reciprocating motion into rotational motion.

An energy analysis of the prescribed motion of an oscillator
Journal of Applied Mathematics and Mechanics, 2001Abstract The energy consumption in the problem of the prescribed periodic motion of an oscillator is analysed. Since the solution of this problem by actuators involves extra weight and hence additional energy is required, it is proposed to use springs with linear or non-linear characteristics for local energy storage.

Journal of Experimental Psychology: Human Perception and Performance, 2004
The perception of 2nd-order, texture-contrast-defined motion was studied for apparent-motion stimuli composed of a pair of spatially displaced, simultaneously visible checkerboards. It was found that background-relative, counter-changing contrast provided the informational basis for the perception of 2nd-order apparent motion; motion began where ...

Energy analysis of a toroidal magnetohydrodynamic plasma with fluid motion
Il Nuovo Cimento D, 1991The relaxation process in an ideal magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) plasma with fluid velocity and enclosed in a toroidal vessel has been discussed. The expressions for the field parameters and the energy state of the system have been derived. The expression for the minimum energy state of the system has been deduced. An analysis of the conservation of energy

Dynamic Modeling and Motion Analysis of Deep-Sea Gliders with Energy Accumulator
2018 OCEANS - MTS/IEEE Kobe Techno-Oceans (OTO), 2018The variations of seawater density, pressure and temperature will affect buoyancy of glider and its motion performance. This study proposed a passive buoyancy compensation device, energy accumulator, to reduce the negative effects of buoyancy changes. In this study, a dynamic model of glider with energy accumulator was established and used to simulate ...

Energy Harvesting from Fingers Motions Using a Wearable System: An Experimental Analysis
2019An experimental analysis is presented in order to assess the best conditions for energy harvesting from the movement of the fingers using a glove-shape wearable system. Polyvinylidene Fluoride (PVDF) piezofilms were used as piezoelectric generators; they were mounted on the glove so they coincide with different interphalangeal joints on both sides of ...
