Motion Dreamer: Boundary Conditional Motion Reasoning for Physically Coherent Video Generation [PDF]
Recent advances in video generation have shown promise for generating future scenarios, critical for planning and control in autonomous driving and embodied intelligence. However, real-world applications demand more than visually plausible predictions; they require reasoning about object motions based on explicitly defined boundary conditions, such as ...

Physical simulation of glacier motion modes
Modes of «dry friction» at glacier-bedrock interface (ice sliding and flow) were simulated under uniform compression with different combinations of mechanical and thermodynamic factors. Effect of ice structure in the intermediate layer was considered in terms of strength of ice adhesion to complex-shaped substrate for typical cases: at frictional ...

Versatile Physics-based Character Control with Hybrid Latent Representation [PDF]
We present a versatile latent representation that enables physically simulated character to efficiently utilize motion priors. To build a powerful motion embedding that is shared across multiple tasks, the physics controller should employ rich latent space that is easily explored and capable of generating high-quality motion.

Spatio-Temporal Motion Retargeting for Quadruped Robots [PDF]
This work introduces a motion retargeting approach for legged robots, which aims to create motion controllers that imitate the fine behavior of animals. Our approach, namely spatio-temporal motion retargeting (STMR), guides imitation learning procedures by transferring motion from source to target, effectively bridging the morphological disparities by ...

Motion Sensors in Physical Therapy
This thesis studies the use of off-the-shelf motion sensing technology in physical therapy rehabilitation. The aim of this thesis is to evaluate how suitable existing commercially available video gaming consoles are for use in physical therapy and explore the challenges associated with creating custom therapeutic systems based on existing platforms.A ...

A physical model of cell crawling motion
A simple « prototype » model of the motion mechanisms of cells without flagella or cilia is proposed. It relies essentially on the « directed exocytosis » discovered recently in many motile cells. An osmotic « pump » working inside the cell is suggested as a plausible motor for the establishment of the directed exocytosis.
