Physics in motion

Proceedings of the 2011 conference on Information technology education, 2011
Students in computer science and information technology should be engaged in solving real-world problems received from government and industry as well as those that expose them to various areas of application. This paper summarizes the results of an undergraduate research project between students in the Department of Information Sciences and Technology

Physics-Based Motion Retiming

1995
By changing only the playback timing of a motion sequence, an animator can achieve a variety of effects that alter our perception of an event. In some scenarios, it may be important to consider physical properties of the motion when retiming (e.g., to preserve physical plausibility). However, existing retiming solutions can be quite time consuming when

The Physics of Labyrinthine Motion Stimulus

Neurologic Clinics, 1990
This article attempts to demonstrate that by means of a single vertical axis rotary chair, motion stimuli can be selectively presented to any one pair of sensors in the labyrinths of the vestibular peripheral end organs, to the exclusion of the others by means of appropriate motion profiles and coupling of the sensors and the stimuli.

Does Physical Motion Matter? The Encoding Differences between Fictive and Physical Motion Events

Cognitive Semantics, 2017
This study aims to explore linguistic differences between fictive motion expressions and physical motion event expressions in Chinese. Although both types of expressions are associated with dynamic linguistic forms, they describe different types of semantic content.

Physics of Eidetic Motion

1992
The arguments developed in this chapter concern what one might call, in its widest sense, the physical “drives” of eidetic motion. As with every other aspect of the eidetic function, the motion of eidetic subsystems may be viewed from different points.
