The role of histone modifications in transcription regulation upon DNA damage
This review discusses the critical role of histone modifications in regulating gene expression during the DNA damage response (DDR). By modulating chromatin structure and recruiting repair factors, these post‐translational modifications fine‐tune transcriptional programmes to maintain genomic stability.

The impetus theory of motion states that to be in motion is to have a non-zero velocity. The at-at theory of motion states that to be in motion is to be at different places at different times, which in classical physics is naturally understood as the ...

Mechanisms of parasite‐mediated disruption of brain vessels
Parasites can affect the blood vessels of the brain, often causing serious neurological problems. This review explains how different parasites interact with and disrupt these vessels, what this means for brain health, and why these processes matter. Understanding these mechanisms may help us develop better ways to prevent or treat brain infections in ...

Various regimes of flux motion in Bi$_2$Sr$_2$CaCu$_2$O$_{8+\delta}$ single crystals
Four regimes of vortex motion were identified in the magnetoresistance of Bi$_2$Sr$_2$CaCu$_2$O$_{8+\delta}$ single crystals: (1) thermally activated flux flow (TAFF) in samples with surface defects caused by thermal annealing; (2) TAFF-like plastic ...

Time after time – circadian clocks through the lens of oscillator theory
Oscillator theory bridges physics and circadian biology. Damped oscillators require external drivers, while limit cycles emerge from delayed feedback and nonlinearities. Coupling enables tissue‐level coherence, and entrainment aligns internal clocks with environmental cues.

An evolutionary strategy based motion estimation algorithm for H.264 video codecs [PDF]
In this paper, we propose a new motion estimation algorithm based on evolutionary strategy (ES) for the H.264 video codec applied to monoscopic video. The proposed technique applies in macroblock basis and performs a parallel local search for the motion ...

Quantum Evolution of Inhomogeneities in Curved Space [PDF]
We obtain the renormalized equations of motion for matter and semi-classical gravity in an inhomogeneous space-time. We use the functional Schrodinger picture and a simple Gaussian approximation to analyze the time evolution of the $\lambda\phi^4$ model,

The newfound relationship between extrachromosomal DNAs and excised signal circles
Extrachromosomal DNAs (ecDNAs) contribute to the progression of many human cancers. In addition, circular DNA by‐products of V(D)J recombination, excised signal circles (ESCs), have roles in cancer progression but have largely been overlooked. In this Review, we explore the roles of ecDNAs and ESCs in cancer development, and highlight why these ...

Kramers equation for a charged Brownian particle: The exact solution
We report the exact fundamental solution for Kramers equation associated to a brownian gas of charged particles, under the influence of homogeneous (spatially uniform) otherwise arbitrary, external mechanical, electrical and magnetic fields.

Electric dipole response of $^6$He: Halo-neutron and core excitations [PDF]
Electric dipole ($E1$) response of $^{6}$He is studied with a fully microscopic six-body calculation. The wave functions for the ground and excited states are expressed as a superposition of explicitly correlated Gaussians (CG).
