The Incredible Shrinking Motor Drive: Accelerating the Transition to Integrated Motor Drives
IEEE Power Electronics Magazine, 2020A technology revolution is unfolding around us as every major mode of transportation is in some stage of electrification, whether on land, sea, or in the air. All of these transportation modes depend on electric machines that play critical roles in both propulsion systems as well as in a wide variety of accessory equipment.

INTELLIGENT DRIVE FOR INDUCTION MOTOR CONTROL
Control and Intelligent Systems, 2008Soft computing techniques such as artificial neural networks and fuzzy logic have been used to design an intelligent drive for induction motor control. The objective of this work is to present a new method of control of induction motor using less Central Processing Unit (CPU) time.

Automatic Drive of Limb Motor Plasticity
Journal of Cognitive Neuroscience, 2006Abstract The ability to perform accurate limb movements may require learning mechanisms that continually tune the motor system. In the current study, we isolate a form of pure limb motor plasticity. Participants reached to targets that were turned off just after the onset of an initial eye movement, reappearing at a new location at the ...

Uninterruptible motor drives: a case study with switched reluctance motor drives
Proceedings of IECON'94 - 20th Annual Conference of IEEE Industrial Electronics, 2002Uninterrupted operation of motor drives is of interest in many applications. To maintain uninterrupted operation of this motor drives during utility power failures, it is customary to install uninterruptible power supplies (UPS) and these may be on- or offline operated to provide continuous power supply to the process drives.

Control improvement of induction motor drives
Conference Record of the Power Conversion Conference - Yokohama 1993, 2002Cancellation controllers can be realizable for induction motor drives, but unfortunately, parameter variations, especially rotor resistance, de-tune the control action. However it is shown by linearized analysis that this drawback can be overcome, except for flux variations, using conditioned feedback loops.

Induction motors as Selsyn drives
Electrical Engineering, 1933The power Selsyn unit, an adaptation of the wound rotor induction motor, provides accurate remote control of angular motion, using only an electrical connection. The characteristics of these units are described briefly in this paper, and methods of calculating their performance are offered. Typical applications of Selsyn drives also are given.

There are very few data available on the problems of using alternating current when applied directly to a motor on an elevator. It is apparent, also, that eventually there will be no d-c. power transmitted for elevator service. Because of these facts and the size of this industry it seems that such data should be available.

To fulfil its lipid phosphatase function, PTEN must be in close proximity to the plasma membrane where its substrates reside. PTEN translocation to the plasma membrane is an active process that is mediated by the myosin-based transport machinery. MyosinV controls PTEN membrane association and thus, PTEN-mediated cell growth in neurons.

Whither motor drives: A case study in switched reluctance motor drives
2007 International Conference on Electrical Machines and Systems (ICEMS), 2007Variable speed motor drives and power electronics are at crossroads as their engineering and technology have matured, and products have found wide acceptance in world markets. A debate is going on about the future of both in academic and to a smaller extent in industrial circles with a broad consensus and agreement that there is no more fundamental ...
