Old Gray Mouse Lemur Behavior, Cognition, and Neuropathology

2018
Nonhuman primate models are required to understand aging and age-related pathologies. The gray mouse lemur Microcebus murinus, a small prosimian primate, develops age-dependent deficits that are comparable to the decline observed during normal and pathological aging in humans.

The Dwarf and Mouse Lemurs of Madagascar

2016
The dwarf and mouse lemurs of Madagascar are two very species-rich lemur genera, yet there is a relative paucity of information on this primate family in published literature. In this first ever treatment of the Cheirogaleidae, international experts are brought together to review and integrate our current knowledge of the behaviour, physiology, ecology,

Chemocommunication in the Reproductive Function of Mouse Lemurs

1995
Prosimians species have retained highly developed chemosensory systems and exhibit various scent-marking behaviors (Schilling, 1979; l990). They constitute a very convenient group of species with which to test the role of chemocommunication in social behaviour and physiology.

ULTRASOUND EVIDENCE OF ATHEROGENESIS IN MOUSE LEMUR PRIMATES

2014
Introduction The grey mouse lemur is an interesting alternative to transgenic models for the study of normal and pathological ageing [1]: aged animals (>5 years old) spontaneously and progressively develop sensori-motor deficits, alterations of biological rhythms, of thermal regulation, of metabolism, as well as cognitive decline and cerebral atrophy ...
